One pocket,shot clock

seems to me that there was too much time taking between shots

more posturing and stalling, even on the simplest shots where there was nothing to think about

It tired the players, prolonged the action, and created boredom in the viewing

Get up and shoot

say 1 minutes pr shot, with an extra minute say 2 times pr game

More shooting less pretending to shoot one stupid shot in order
to play to the audience or punish the man in the chair

Even chess has a shot clock,

Unless it it is a tournament that has a time restriction, I disagree.

You (or me, or any other spectator) dictating to the participants the appropriate amount of time to take to shoot is much like a child handing out life advice.

I tend to agree. Some games can become a bit tedious.
My suggestion is a Timekeeper. He could be an employee of the poolroom and live in the back, and clean out the shitters when he wasn't officiating One Pocket matches.

The other side of that coin is, shoot and then go sit the F down. Stop walking around the table, stop moaning and *****ing, stop looking like a dumb ass saying how the guy is lucky on every shot, stop standing in your opponent's line of sight, stop jumping up trying to see close hits right as the opponent shoots, and on and on,

I understand occasionally there will have to be some thought if you are in a bear hug, but over all, I believe that it is a good idea to keep the game moving along. There are some matches I've watched on dvd and youtube that are just plain brutal. It seems to be the same people over and over again. If the slow players are in the match I won't watch or buy the match. I mean when you have a straight in with easy position, it doesn't take 3 minutes to figure it out.

If it's just two people playing and no one watching, of course. Who cares what they do? But if there are spectators, and especially if people are paying to watch, there should be a shot clock like every other sport or game.

I'm all for a shot clock in 9, 10 or rotation, even 8 ball with additional time given after the break ... but not 14.1 or one pocket ... too much thinking needs to be done to get one hole or straight played at the highest levels.

Just my two cents.

I watched the invitational thing
it used a shot clock and was much better watching,at least for me
