One Pocket Specialist

Jerry Slivka plays a lot in the Baltimore/Towson/Sterling area, and although I despise pool room detectives, I'll give ya a little hint... Play "real good" or you'll have just bread on your sandwich.

he gives cliff joyner 9-7 and robs him... just kidding... but you better play jam up if you cant beat you local run of the mill shortstops you are gonna have your hands full.. actually your hands will be empty

He can't play a lick. You should try him some...............maybe even offer him some weight....for big amounts.

Matt (Can you tell I'm not giving up any info?)

I think before anyone can "ask" for a players speed on AZ they should have to give a full description of thier game, and why they are asking!

only seems fair....

There is an old Accustats tape of Gerry playing a little one pocket. He can play a little.

Your first post on the forum and you want people to rate a player for you?
I don't think that's the way we work around here.

Buy the tape- well worth the $. He plays Parica and crushes him...for the first 3 games. Too bad it was a race to 4!

Hardly a pool room detective!

I live in upstate New York and play in my local room. I am a weak B player
but I play alot and am learning the game. Most games in my room are 10, 20 or fifty per game. One of the players in this room brings in a guy(slivka) and he wants to play for 200 or 500 a game ! Well he knows exactly how everyone in my room plays but only one guy knows how he plays so I decided to "ask" how he plays and I have already ordered the tapes. I have a job and work for a living I don't have money to give away. Who in todays world wants to get hustled? Tell it like it is and I will decide what I want to do. What would you do? Wouldn't you be a bit suspicious if a stranger walks in with a sponsor and wants to play for anywhere between
200 & 500 per game?

Honestly, im not trying to be a d$ck but if i were a weak B player I shouldn't be considering a game with anyone I have never seen play... especially not a road player with a backer who wants to play 500 a game one pocket... I wouldnt need this board to tell me that

unknown?

if ya wanna know how he plays, play him some 20 a game or somthing.he might get up there and play and ya might learn somthing, who knows,ya might win,he may even lose just to stimulate action.if he is there wanting to bet it up ,someone probably sent him there and he is looking for someone.maybe a mark.someone who bets that kind of money is gonna play someone who knows him ,or of him.who knows you might be a better 1 pocket player.you can always quit, show a little heart and step up.chuck a 100 at him, make your own tape then you can tell the tale.lol.no offense.thanks

Jerry is a nice guy but he dumped me once that is a fact. His reasoning was he was not playing for enough money. We made him thumb it back to Pittsburgh. Oh well let bygones be bygones I guess

It wasn't nice when he dumped the match and admitted it either. He said he was not happy only playing a 500 set. The guy he was playing was a family man who will only bet up to a dime at that time. Jerry said "I let him win because we are not betting enough" Spent a week with him he was a good guy but that left a sour taste in my mouth.
