One pocket tournament, Ca Billiards

:happydance::happydance::outtahere::outtahere:I just saw a flyer for a $4000 added one pocket tournament. It's going to be held at California Billiards in Northern California and then right after that a Seminole nine ball stop. The guy Chris that owns the joint is promoting pool the right way. I believe he plans to stream the play. The room is large and plenty of space for spectators. What I find interesting is that he has eight tables in an area that is separate from the other tables. These tables have been shimmed and are not like the buckets normally played by the pros. Gold Crowns throughout the room. He always has a good crowd for his tournaments and usually prepares special meals for tournaments.
I realize this sounds like an ad but I try to go to DCC as much as possible and these tournaments I hope will turn into the west coast version of the DCC. Being able to watch great players in your own back yard is great. Growing up, Johnson City was close and there was a few wasted weeks spent there. Tournaments like that, dedicated to the players are the best. I expect this to be that type of tournament because dedication to pool players is what California Billiards represents.

Date of California tournament

What is the date and time for this tournament? Really enjoy watching
the live pool streams-especially one pocket..

So what if you are sounding like an ad? This should advertised! When room owners are doing things right to promote pool, we should know about it. Rep to you Bill.

Here is the flyer for the Seminole Tours so it should give you an idea about the 1-pocket event held at CA Billiards: http://semprotour.com/.

Chris, nice going planning these two major events in Northern California! I hope they both fill.

Dave

Is the flyer now posted on CA club website?

It should B a nice event and I will certainly play in the one pocket !

I've heard thru the grapevine that a ten ball event will follow the one pocket.

There are a couple nice reasonable places to stay within walking distance of the room and I will be there looking for a little actiion when the tournament isn't going on.

They have a golf game on a nice 6 x 12 snooker table and I will also gamble a little there.

Would be nice if you can make it Dave, we haven't seen you in a while.

The Terry Stonier Memorial at The Jointed Cue in Sacramento is March 19/20 and you have a place to stay if you can make it. John

Dave, I hope we will be seeing you. I got a message today from John Brumback about coming out. I will buy you lunch. (At Costco, you can have anything on the menu) Let me know when you're coming and I'll pick you up at the Greyhound station.

John,

No surprise you will be on the prowl :). Wow! 2 full weeks of great tournaments in Northern California: Stonier; $4k added 1-pocket; and Seminole Tour. I would love to be at all of them, or even one but I think work will be getting very busy (I hope) so it's doubtful. Thank you for the invite, if things change I will let you know. Good luck to you!

Bill,

If I can have 2 hot dogs at Costco, things might have just changed :). Seriously, I hope I can make it, but it is doubtful.

Good luck to all!

If you eat two Costco hot dogs at one sitting, you've got action after we get you out of the emergency room.

Kentucky,
Do you know the date for the tourney. (One Pocket). You ever play any 9 ball any more? You used to kick my butt when I was a rookie, I would like to return the favor someday. This should be a great tourney and a lot of fun.. see you there..

You were no rookie in nine ball, EVER! You just happen to meet me when I played everyday for ten hours, seven days a week. Being off for eight years has devastated me. How do you think I like playing Shaky with a spot or you? It humiliating playing as bad as I do today. I am almost off the morphine which means my back is almost normal. Of course not working for the past nine years has left me broke. I only have a little bit left but I'm your Huckleberry. How do I get to any pool rooms from Monterey Park?
