One simple question

I'm not singling anyone out but I gotta ask, why do people on this board beat things into the ground with a dozen threads on the same subject? Ok, I know there are some threads that pop up from time to time that people get tired of reading, but what I'm talking about is a whole different matter. If you look across the first few pages of this forum you see about 5 or 6 threads against Varney, a few threads against Mr. Wilson etc... My question is this, if there is already an ongoing thread on the first or second page WHY ON EARTH do people feel the need to start new threads on the exact same subject? Then there has to be a poll thread dedicated to it too. I don't get it. I gotta tell ya, I'd rather wade through NPR posts than look and see 6 threads about the same thing on one page.

I guess it depends on your perspective. You can see it as a tedious overeaction, or...you can see it as reflective of genuinely strong feelings on the subject matter by forum members.

I think the combination of KV's behavior and what apparently seems to be a nod in his favor by the mods stirred some very potent emotions. Some sense of justice being unserved, etc...

perhaps

Perhaps a poll would help you figure this one out. First you start another thread asking if people want you to do a poll on this. Then if you get one supporter you start another thread to post the poll in. Finally you start a thread to report the results of the poll. Of course it wasn't really "finally" because now you have enough material to start three more polls about basically the same thing!

Seriously people who start threads about the same thing as other threads want to make sure that their thoughts are seen by the largest group possible. Posting late into a thread that most won't revisit gets your views seen by the few still involved in the thread. Posting a new thread with a bold title "Curse You Red Baron!" gets most everyone to look.

My Question?

MULLYMAN:
Why didn't you follow your own advice and post this same question on all of the Varney/Wilson threads in which you are discussing and questioning???? That way we wouldn't have another thread about the Varney/Wilson threads, asking why people post more threads about the same thing.
See what I mean????
Your question is just an off-shoot of the original threads being here, and since you wanted your opinion or question heard, you started a new thread. Your question might have been lost since it would have been ONE POST in all of the other posts on those threads( a needle in a haystack - mind you), but by starting your own post - it would not be as lost.
And that is the reason why others do the same thing - the same reason you did - FOR YOUR VOICE TO BE HEARD. At least that is my opinion.

I could have started another THREAD - but I believe my post will be heard. And if not - DOESN'T that say something about my opinion or statement? I am not afraid to be lost in here, and what I say does not need to be heard by others to make me keep breathing. It is a PUBLIC FORUM, and sometime people just want to be the king at the top - voicing their opinions to be heard - Trying to be LOUDER than the previous person.

I am so glad that this is a visual forum, without audio, because if it included audio I would hate to see how loud it would get in here - the BUZZ would be deafening. Especially from all of the popcorn chomping.
