O'Neil Case

Hey WW nice case. I have a 2x4 O'Neil just like that and has room on one end for accessories.
By the way that's a nice Mosconi/Balabushka cue in there. May I ask who made rhat? That is the exact cue I am going to ask Pete Tascarella to make for me.

I have a Zero Halliburton and quite honestly, I think the O'Neil cases are much more practical. The foam will eventually break down in a Halliburton and the vinyl on the O'Neil's will not show every little scratch or mark.

I don't believe that's an O'Neil.
I have to agree. Doesn't look like an O'Neil but I'm no expert. I never saw one made with that material on the outside.

Yes, it is.
They made them with this material and even some with a tapestry.
Deanoc was looking for one with the tapestry a while back. I believe it was a tapestry of a horse drawn stagecoach.

lol. I have two of those cases. I sent Mark a dozens pics and he responded that they are not O'Neil cases.
Whether they are or not, I can tell you that the boxes on those are not the same thickness as branded O'Neil cases plus they lack some of the hardware. They are not as sturdy and substantial.
Well this is disconcerting.
I have seen it said before that they are O'Neil. And we have posts in the past that said Mark said they were.
What hardware are they lacking? O'Neil has used various hardware.
Not arguing, just want to know.
The one I gave away like that didn't seem less sturdy.

The one posted on the previous page of this thread is the same as those in that catalog pic. And the one I had is the same in the catalog pic.
Clearly hardware varied over the years on these cases.
I have several O'Neil cases. Several sizes up to the 12x12. All excellent quality. There is some variation in the hardware.
The tweed one I let go was the only tweed one I had. But it went to a great friend.
I have one blue. A couple brown. The rest are black.
