opinions needed on GC III

No problem.

The Diamond is from the same guy with the 3 GC-3. He wanted 2700. Said he had to get new pockets on them for 200. I guess it is a Pro and not a Pro-AM, b/c of the drop pockets? Also said it was 3pc slate.

He showed me one rail from it and it had brown leather pockets on it. The rail looked VERY OLD and beat up. The rest was still boxed up and stored somewhere. The cloth on that cushion was very discolored.

He did show me a pic of it when it was previously installed on his phone. But I could hardly make anything out of the pic.

Yeah, that's a Diamond Professional all right, but I'm willing to bet that's way over priced as well, knowing how these Diamond tables have been treated in the past. What these tables are worth, and what they need to have invested in them to make them worth the time to own is two different things. That's where the selling price of the table has to balance out with the investment to fix the table up the right way. If the initial cost of the table, plus the cost of fixing the table up the right way, equals what the table could actually be sold for when all said and done comes out to the same value, then you'd have a good investment. Meaning, it makes no since to invest more in a pool table than you'd ever get out of it reselling the table. Buying a CG for example for say $1.000, then investing another $1,500 bringing your total investment up to $2,500 is a good investment...because you can sell the table at that invested price at a later date, but the "Fixed up" investment has to be creditable, meaning it has to be done by someone who's work is Professional, and resalable to the next buyer....because if they're buying the said table for $2,500...they shouldn't have to invest another dime in the table to fix it up, other then to have it moved and set up at their location, which is always on the back of the buyer one way or another, and has nothing to do with the equity in the table being sold.
