When I first saw a golf ball it was white. Then they came out with optic orange and yellow ones. White is better.

When I first saw a football it was brown. I had goofy color nerf type balls as a kid, but when I turn on the TV to watch football, the ball should be brown. Not Nerf colors or the white ones used in the early days of tv night games.

I have played on a variety of colors of pool/ billiard cloth. Cloth is green. The fact some shows up better on TV is irrelevant to me. The tan cloth even provides nice contrast and my pitiful lifetime high run in straight pool came on a gold crown with the old tan/gold cloth that was popular for a while. But the cloth should have been green because it was a pool table and green is best. :D :p
 
Simonis green is great.. I can live with it. The Electric blue at the hall is nice and is ok by me. Mosconi preffered the camel color and I guess he knows better than me. The camel is kind of blah but, Willee liked it. I got to see this new powder blue!

Sorry your logic is anything but logical.

Going with your "observation," carriage makers (wood or metal tires) would have laughed at mechanical car manufacturers when they changed to rubber tires, and said "Sorry, tires are just metal/wood"

If modern science, and the billiard industry studies color, and determines that a different color truly is better for a number of reasons, why would ANYONE stick with green?

I too am traditional, but if technology and scientific studies show that something new is better than something old, the choice is easy.
 
Pool tables are green. I don't discuss it. That's just the way it is. :D

I just discovered that this thread started way back in 04 and I said the same thing then! Well..... some things aren't meant to change.

Blue for me. Never seen the powder blue, but I have electric blue at home and love it. Blue is the new color for pool tables IMO.
 
I prefer blue too........but how in the heck did you find this thread? Dinosaurs still roamed when it was started.

I love the blue, powder and electric blue. My favroite by far. Lets a lot of lighit in.
 
Just had the tournament blue put on my table. I LOVE it.. I could not switch back to the old colors unless I was forced to..
 
I play every day and got tired of always having green hands, I bought the camel simonis about 4 years ago and love it, it will take some time to get use to it, but once you do, does not get your hands dirty and keeps the cue clean. In the pool hall I have to wash my hands every hour and they still get dirty. Just MHO
