opinions on wood moving

i was turning some pph handlewood i got last year. it was an initial turn so they were new. anyway i cant to a piece that was warped real bad. i mean bad bad. i prob will use it for something thoer then a handle but i will make a few passes and see what happens. it got me thinking the. do you think its better to cut the warp out of the middle or centerdrill the hole offset and cut the warp out of the end. not that it matters much but just wondering some thoughts. maybe i can learn something.....

How is the grain pattern? If the bottom 4.5 inches shows runoff, I'd whack it and tenon it.
 
You are going to have the grain run off the same either way. One way it will curve way out and back in, if you just turn it with normal centers. The other way it will run off heavier at one end. For looks you just have to make the decision which way will look best. But for stability I think it is better to move your center over and get the middle turning true as early on in the tapering process as possible.
