I have been around the game too long to be impressed by many things. But I met Keith (and the delectable Jenny) for the first time at The Big Apple Open. Certainly he is a showman in a world sadly lacking in personalities. Sure he likes to imbibe but I was happy to make his acqaintance and hope that someday he may get involved in one of my events. Have you got a passport, Keith.

I can sure as heck get one, Doug! Thanks for your kind words. It really does mean a lot. Cheers to you for all that you do and the opportunities you provide to guys like me and Earl.

Earl looks like a youngster in that picture, how old is it? Maybe he was just having a good day.

Catscradle, this was just taken a few months ago at Hooker's Carolinas Open in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

If there's anybody that deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, it's Earl. He's one of the most dominant players in this pool world, and I have the utmost respect for his game.

I've had the privilege of knowing Earl since he was a pup, and his most valuable assets are his desire to win and his intense focus. I've always gotten a kick out of watching him play. I'd rather watch him play, than play him, but when we do end up on opposite sides of the table, we end up having a good time, win or lose.

Hi Earthquake,

Thanks for setting the record straight. I asked several people about you during the week. No one, including you, told me of your illness! I suffered through eight days of something myself.

As I've said many times on AZ, you are definitely a favorite here in Rochester. Incidently, I guessed that photo of you and Earl was taken here in Rochester last year. Through my years playing with and watching Earl, I have never heard him say so many complimentary things about his opponent, as he did you! Hope you can return here April 3 & 4. Boscow bought some Efren one hole tapes and is practicing daily.

My apologies!!!!!!

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, Cardiac Kid. This was taken at Derby City Classic. I don't remember ever meeting you.

Maybe I'll see you at the Joss event on April 3rd and 4th in Rochester, New York, at Classic Billiards. Tell Rich I'm looking forward to coming, and give the whole gang my regards, and tell Bosco not to learn too much or the spot will have to go up. ;)

A friend who knows Keith from Hardtimes and in general from So. Cal said Keith was recovering from a bout of the flu. I've watched Keith play Efren, Parica and many other top players and when he is "on" he is awesome. It's a wonder that with what he has put his body through during his down times that he can even pick up a cue. His comeback is remarkable.

Hi Buddha,

My take on the dead shark is:

Spent a week watching and listening to Keith at the DCC. His play was way, way below par. The further into the week he went, the quieter he bacame. Every opportunity he had to play was, oh well, sad. Yound kids spotting him in banks. No one to put up money for him in the ring games. Missing his 9 Ball match in the main event. Thats my take. Perhaps Piggy will give us some further insight.

Keith had the flu. Jennie had it, also. It was going around pretty good, I think Nick Varner and his brother Steve had it. I came down with it a day or two after I got home and am just now getting over it. I know from talking with Jennie that they were both pretty ill the first few days of the DCC.
