orcullo's friend asked me to post this.
he just won the predator10ball event and didnt want to spoil any deals he is working on.

dennis did not use fury during the event at all , and neither against bartrum.

hope that clears some stuff up
 
It shouldn't matter what cue he uses anyways, it's 95% skill, not what freaken cue you use. If I go buy a Fury cue, or some other cue that he plays with, will I play like him?....NO! lol.
 
I'm always curious about which cues the top pros play with. I bet if you give a good player a different cue than he's used to his game will go down more than 5%. Probably somewhere between 10 and 15%.
 
Pros use whatever they get paid to endorse. The technology in building cues today have advanced to the point where good and bad are not as discernable as they were long ago. Does anyone really think Fisher and Strickland are good because they play with cuetec?
 
Thanks for the post. I didn't believe all the Fury commercial thing anyway. Not something a champion will choose ...........

wow bro really?! most people that actually play realize how big a deal a cue makes but way to give his sponsors a reason not to sponsor him

okay, my understanding is that dennis uses a mezz. i've seen him and warren kiamco breaking with a mezz at the very least. i then heard that predator was offering money to any pros who would wear their patch and use their product if they made it to the televised rounds...and off dennis and warren went to the predator booth to cash in on the offer. i did spot warren sporting a predator patch later on which is something i've never seen on him before.

not sure where or how this whole Fury thing came about but it's not what i saw/heard at the show.

the question is whether or not dennis or warren will stick with predator or if this was just a one time "get that monetary bonus" type of deal.

Maybe you should ask why people buy Lebron Jame's shoes, or Tiger Woods apparrel or golf clubs, or Nadal's tennis racket? It's all about advertisement and that is how sports mature. Obviously people aren't buying the products to become a pro, they buy it because they either like the product or what the product stands for.
 
How many world titles did Earl and Allison win with Cuetecs? nuff said

even in golf where equipment is a religon, Tiger was winning with crappy Nike for years before their stuff improved

I know pros who sanded off the predator logo and play with the sponsor cue butt!
 
Give any pro a cue for a month or 2 and they will be dialed into it. You gotta figure it out before you go all in on the newbie.

any idea how much endorsements and sponsorship pay today or in past?
Miz probably was tops Miller light or was Mosconi? or any others???
How about now?
Allison was replaced by Jeanette Lee APA?
My thought is it is not the sponsor money but the publicity they bring which brings other deals later?
