The game opens with a safety battle, and Orcullo makes an error, giving Hatch the first good chance, and he runs out easily for 14/0. Makes the breakshot but later runs a bit out of line, and recovers nicely with a solid shot on the 13 in the corner, running out for 28/0. Makes another breakshot, but layout is tricky, and it takes a fine cut on the 1 in the corner with inside english for Hatch to gain control. He hits it well, and the rest of the rack is routine, s he leads 42-0. Makes next breakshot but gets caught under the rack, and must play a paper thin cut shot to keep the run alive. Makes the shot, but loses the cue ball, which scratches in the top corner after carominf off a loose ball. A little unlucky in my view, and he walks away with a 42/0 lead.
Orcullo has ball in hand but runs ourt of shape almost immediately. A solid two in the corner keeps the turn alive, but the shape onto the under-the-rack breakshot is missed, and Orcullo must go up and down off the top rail to try to correct. Gets too straight again, and tries a huge stroke to get a piece of the pack but jaws the 8-ball, so Hatch returns to the table with a 42/5 lead. Runs the rest of the rack for 50/5, and breaks the next pack, setting up a relatively simple clearance, but a position error forces him to play the five rail first, a very missable shot, but he hits it well, and finishes off the rack for 64/5. Makes breakshot and the next rack is very rotuine, so Hatch leads 78/5. Next breakshot is made, but Hatch must jack up on the very next shot and hits it very well to keep the run alive, and completes the rack for a 92/5 lead, but misses the shape on the brekshot after leaving insufficient angle on the key ball. So Hatch plays a safety sending the five ball against the bottom rail and the cue ball up table. Orcullo is supposed to take a backscratch here, but foolishly chances the top of the rack safety and sells out the match, won by Hatch 100-5.
