This is from another forum, from a reliable poster who also posts here. Guess his call out anyone didn't need to be too far from home for him.

Tony C. and Santos

10 ahead 9 ball, for 10large.

After a delay of about 2 hours, the money was finally posted and play began.

Santos darted out to a 3 game lead before Tony finally Won his first.

2hours later after Santos had been on the hill 3 times with 9 games, he finally got out.

Relatively a short 10 ahead match, no super play from either player, Tony C. was never really in the game.

They may try 5 or 6 ahead One Pocket next week for some large$.

Tony Chohan or Tony Crosby?

I believe that is Chohan, he issued a challenge to play anyone west of Oklahoma over the age of 50

You're right. Surely it's Chohan, though I think the challenge is for those under 50, not those over 50.

I give Tony credit for stepping up. He issued the challenge and played, even though he obviously was not in stroke. Sounds like a match I would have liked to seen, even if neither played that great.

From the sounds of it Tony will need credit :D

Was Tony A "Sport" Or A "Sucker"?

If you say he was "Sport" - Good for you!

If you say he was a "Sucker" - Don't ever complain about there not being any good action games anymore!

I heard that S Dakota, hearing impaired Shane had already beaten him T-REX on that challenge-NO?

Is he 0-2 now?

Im glad tony is trying to climb the ranks and make a name for himself win or lose. Hope to see more of this going around, i watch Santos play at Hard times in bellflower alot, just banging around balls, and when he gets in stroke he gets out from everywhere.

I heard Tony and Shane played for 10K and Shane played like God at first; people usually exaggerate this stuff but someone told me he ran a nine pack on Tony. He for sure won the set after getting a huge lead.

But...Tony got him to play for 4k sets and they ended up even in the end.

(This is all second hand, though - anyone actually see them play?)

I don't know if Tony wants to be matching up even with touring pros too often; Santos is pretty strong when he's on.

shane beat tony the 1st set in about 45 mins...10 up...then lost his break and they ended close to even. Give Shane a couple of years and it won't be close

who would win on one pocket?

Let's get it Straight

I and others have replied to posting about top players matching up. Again, I must suggest to not disclose the actually amounts being played for in these challenge matches. In other words, to know who won is one thing, but the amounts being thrown around could be harmful to players if the information is not correct or even worse if it gets in the wrong hands.

An example of a good post is oldhasbeen's. He is simply complimenting players and referencing how action is good. I totally agree.

Other posts, though, (IMO) go too far into the details of money and frankly none of the amounts were correct, nor did they have enough firsthand information to know the complete story.

So I will give you the accurate story first hand from one of the players who is a very good friend of mine, and the fact that i personally was there for two of the three match-ups.

Tony won over Santos (one-pocket) the week before Santos easily won over Tony (9-Ball). The following week Tony easily won over Santos (one-pocket).
There are no immediate plans for a future match-up.

They both handled themselves as gentlemen, graceful in defeat and respectful in victory. This says something good about players, proving that action can be a good thing. It also says that if you are not one of the players in the ring then enjoy it for what it is worth, but do not involve yourself in their business. Gossip and rumors potentially can ruin the action for players.

everything about me has been true. Tony Chohan has been my toughest match i had ever played in my pool history so far. i should have been beaten . about me playing pool i love to play anybody that plays good and will beat me. for the love of the game.
