Our Pool Forum

I think it's important that we stop, and take a minute to think about our forum. We as members make this place what it is. We all enjoy it, use it regularly, and MOST try to make it better with each post. This place has become my favorite on the web, and I want to thank all of you for that!


With the above in mind, I think it's important to take note that we as pool players aren't all just a bunch of degenerate A-holes. The below are two great examples of what this place is capable of.

There are several other examples out there I'm sure, but I wanted to make sure that the people in this thread, that are really helping pool grow, get a little notice.

I was inspired by these two threads, and in light of this I gave and some of my older stuff to a guy here locally that could use a decent setup, but chooses to spend his money on his family, instead of pool.

In the interest of maintaining and improving AZ, may I humbly suggest that posters take a few seconds to re-read and edit their comments. I'm not a "grammar police officer", but some comments have so many spelling and grammatical errors, it becomes difficult to understand the comment. So I suggest respecting the English language and the readers of your comments by making a little effort to use what we all had the opportunity to learn in grade school.

I usually like your posts Donny but disagree strongly... and that's coming from someone who is usually pretty solid in terms of spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Spelling/punctuation nitpicking adds nothing to the discussion, and is often used as a weapon for one poster to take potshots at another. Basically people point out the errors to make the other look stupid, rather than directly addressing the points they make in their posts. I certainly hated seeing JAM getting into little pissing contests over writing with some of the other forum members.

I'd rather people focused on avoiding any sort of hostile tone. If that means letting typos slide rather than pointing them out, so be it.
