Hi Bob,

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers from you and yours.

We realize that your trying to help with the worry were going through. Thanks for that, sir..

Her Dr's says this is not routine, and should not ever be treated as such. He says, if a Dr. tells you it's routine, get another Dr.

He says he treates all operations as if it's your last shot at life. I go along with him. BTW, he also teaches this at the Universety hospital. Got good recommendations on him, from all over the state.
There will be 4 highly skilled Dr's helping Janice out during this operation, and lots of good nurses, and Tec-people..

Minor surgery only happens to other people that we generally don't know all that well.

Hang in there. You and your wife have a ton of good Karma working for you.

GlI'm glad that your doctors have pinpointed the cause (or one of them) of the problem. A pice of plaque may have loosened and caused the stroke. You're right that this upcoming procedure isn't routine as they are the channels that feed the brain its nutrients and oxygen. But the procedure has advanced in the last few years that rest assure that the upside is clearer.

Get a lot of rest none-the-less and always see her with a happy face, this will strengthen her will to fight on and its response from her will strengthen yours. Take care.

Our thoughts to you

Leonard,

We just heard about your wife's condition here on this forum. I just went through two minor surgeries in June and my husband was there by my side the entire time, it was the most wonderful thing anyone could have done for me.
Someone once told me that courage is not a lack of fear, it's learning to function in spite of it. It takes a lot of courage and a lot of hope to make it throught times like these. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your wife.

We'll keep checking the forum for updates. I hope they are all good news from here on.

The Planet-Pool Team,
Nick, Andy, Ceci and Billy.

Leonard called....

11:14 AM Sunday, I just got a call from Leonard. He is in good spirits (his usual jovial self). He reports that he is on his way to the hospital to meet the rest of the family who are coming in.

As of yesterday, the doctor came in and went over the operation with the both of them. Apparently, they are going to go in and fix one of the carotid arteries. She has a small chance of having a stroke during this procedure, but Janice feels comfortable that all will be well. The operation will begin at around 8:00 AM in the morning and I didn't ask how long it would take. Hopefully, I will get updates during the day and will report them as they come in.

Leonard again expresses his thanks and appreciation for all the good wishes that everyone has shown him. Both Janice and Leonard are extremely touched that so many people are keeping them in their prayers.

I will keep you updated as I get more info!

up date

Hello to all,

Just wanted to report on Janice. She had one operation this morning on her right carortid artey, 90% blocked, and all went well, until this afternoon. They are having trouble with her blood/pressure. it's up and down. With the operation only this morning, her blood pressure was real low, and they were having trouble keeping it at a steady pressure. They put her in the cardic/heart [ ICCU]unit and are watching her real close. They say it will level out when some of the jelly [dope], wears off.
will let all know more when i go back. She might get to come home real soon.

thanks for your prayers, folks, and for those who don't "believe" we'll pray for you guys.Really....

home at last.

Great news, I just got Janice home about two hours ago. She's sort of weak.
She will rest for a few days, then send her love to all.

Please understand that we both are glad to have so many behind us for the last two weeks.

THANKS TO ALL

Leonard and Janice.

Great news indeed, Blud. May Janice continue to improve.
