If you are anywhere near Atlanta this weekend or if you can make it to the area the place to be is at Mr Cues billiards for the $5,000 guaranteed Richard Sweet Memorial events. The entry fee for all 3 events was only $20 and when signing up I noticed they had over 150 people already signed up and paid to play in the events with more sign ups being taken right before each event. I bet the calcutta's will be huge.

Here is a link to the event information. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=187169

This is one of the reasons that I like posters making threads about exceptional tournaments in the Main Forum. I realize the need for a forum dedicated to listing the tournament announcements but I would have missed this tournament announcement if you hadn't posted it in the main forum.

The unfortunate part of the story is that I can't go to Atlanta two weekends in a row. It sounds like a GREAT local tournament with lots of competition.

It's still great to sweat the specs on the tournament if that makes any sense.

yeah but I'm the captain so I kinda need to stay put and watch out for my 2's and 3's...

Very tempting though, but it sucks that I would have to pay 10 entry

$10 is about as cheap as it gets to play in a tournament.. That's to get in and play in the event. Watching is FREE.

Yeah that's true but it's still double what the early fee was. I may play tonight. You are very convincing.

That is going to be a long event. I can't remember hearing about a tournament with that many players. That's great for the sport and the sponsors. Whoever is running that must be doing something right.

Coin tables? If so keeping the entry fee down...is a great way for everyone to enjoy a tournament...it is also great for the tables.
I agree the owners are doing something right!
Adding $5000 is also showing he is all about the sport...GREAT JOB!!!

Richard Sweet

Richard Sweet was one of the greatest guys to walk this earth and he is really, really missed. His fantastic family has picked up where he left off and is still doing things the Richard Sweet way. God Bless them. I will be playing in the Friday tournament. Yeah baby it is summer time in HotLanta let the games begin!!!!

To get the rate you have to tell them that you are with the Viking Tour Event at Mr Cues.

No coin tables there. It's probably on 9-footers.

There are No Coin Tables in Mr Cues. These events are played on 9' tables.

The last time the Viking Tour held an event with entry fees this low they had 227 individual players in just 1 of the events.

The last time the Viking Tour held an event like this at Mr Cues they had over 300 entries into the different events.

MR Cues ROCKS !!!

I just found out I was mistaken about the 150 number I gave.

Being here at the event I learned that it the actual number is closer to 400 players !!!

Sorry about that.

Joiner wins the Thursday 8-ball mini.

Wow, the 8-ball division event just ended. They had 124 players in this Thursday "not so mini, mini tournament.

Cliff Joiner won by defeating Shawn Putnam in the finals. Ike Runnels took 3rd and Billy Tyler took 4th place.

1st place paid 100 to 1 on the entry fee.

This event will most likely go down in the Viking Tours history books as there largest event ever.

The previous record was around 330 entries.

There are 146 players in the Friday night mini event. Cues is packed !!!
