Cue Maker Guess

this cue just was a stunner! tell me what you think? It was some of the best work ive seen so I had to buy it! and 8 other cues at the cue collector show
1. Black Boar
2. Manzino
3. Richard Chudy

If it's not one of those three i'd love to know who else is doing that type of cue inlay work.

Cue?

I think Arthur Queue From Frankethal Germany ( O ) It is a very beautiful cue I would like to see the rest of it.

I think Bill is just busting our ***** Maybe he doesn't know who the maker is. I would guess Thomas Wayne. Beautiful work and what a nice price $995.00 shipped. Bill you always have the best looking cues at the right prices. Casey

complex....

but there's something odd about the inlays....they're 3-dimensional, ie,,,there is a light side and a dark side to some of the inlays, most noticable at the white, end point inlays. since this shaded effect can't be done with a standard inlay like ivory or anything white, my guess is that these inlays are like decals or something printed or "artificial".

I noticed the middle inlay and just figured it was MoP, Abalone or some other iridescent material with some bad lighting.

There's noway that this is "transfers"...is there?

No clue...

...as to who made it, but I am fairly certain it is out of my price range....

Is the shading of the apparent ivory inlays done via scrimshaw?

except that the WAY these "inlays" are shaded are consistant all the way through. if it were mop or something, the inlays closest to you would be reflecting differently than the ones at the other end because the angle of view is different. but if you look closely, they are shaded EXACTLY the same. plus there's no iridesecent quality here,,,,it's pretty much white to gray. i think scrimshawing would appear more scratchy, but that's only based on scrimshaw i've seen. and scrimshaw is usually black, with grays being acheived by spacing....the white here turns to gray, not variations of black.

Geez, I was only kidding when I suggested it was a decal cue, could it really be?. Is someone trying to test our cue buying eyes?. :D

these are probably silver inlays and it's the lighting and the roundness of the cue photographed at center that produce these shaded anomilies imo.

I could never see Bill posting anything with decals. Plus he clearly states in his thread title "over 200 tiny pieces inlaid" I would say Arthur as well, only because there is a fellow here from Germany that has seen it in person. Don't look passed the obvious.
