I always thought the Mosconi cup should have a few matches between the OG players who are still around and can play good enough. Earl, Archer, Soquet, etc...

I agree. The whole thing is basically a Hollywood game-show. Couldn't hurt. Toss in some smokin hot round-girls while they're at it.

Matlock is 72 and probably playing more than he did 25yrs ago. Still plays at a high level. I'd take Dave playin just about any of the old fart brigade.

I saw him play against Varner recently Ultimate Pool.
Knowing both players since their youth, I picked Nick then watched the match.
Dave was just running around the table and not taking his time.
His play did not seem normal.
Can't make more than one blatant mistake against nick on bar box 8 ball short race.
