Model 16
This cue is based on the famed Model "J" from the 2nd Catalog. I have heard this cue called a lot of names including a "scarab" cue. This cue, its original shafts and Palmer case have been together since it was purchased new in the early 1970's. The joint protectors have a loin on them, but they are included too. The ferrules do not appear to be ivory and there is no ivory on the cue. It has enough mother of pearl inlays to keep you counting for a long time. It has the original pearl buttcap and the correct bumper. The shafts are 13mm+, straight and sound. Butt is 17.118 oz, Shaft 1 - 13.25mm and 4.257 oz, Shaft 2 - is 13.29,, and 4.268 oz.
Most of the 3rd Catalog Model 16 cues had forearms made by the Szamboti's. Palmer was winding down their in-house forearm building at the time and more blanks were obtained from outside sources. This has the rarer Palmer forearm. These cues were not built in large numbers.
I had intended to keep this cue forever. But I am liquidating some cues to make a cue purchase. You will not find a better Model 16 than this cue. I want $2000 in my hand after shipping cue. So buyer pays for shipping and insurance or whatever.
