I am not sure this is the correct forum for this, so if not, my apologies.

There is a Palmer Model 20 currently on eBay under auction #160968615586. I am somewhat knowledgeable on Palmers but I am not an expert and I am aware that variations exist.

This cue is reportedly refinished and is offered with only one shaft.

I have a couple of questions for those more knowledgeable than I am:
1) Were Model 20s ever delivered with only one shaft?
2) To my eye the shaft included with cue does not appear to be original due to the joint on the shaft and the length of the wood surrounding the joint.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

And once again, if this is not the proper forum for this question on this cue for sale, please advise.

I don't know the OP, but here is the link to the cue on Ebay:

All the ones I have had, had two shafts. One just sold on ebay, in excellent shape for 4200 w/ 2 shafts.

Thanks for the pics. Those joints look close to the one in the eBay auction, so it likely IS an original shaft. Probably just another variation among Balner's work.

PS I have seen pics of your Model 20's before and needless to say, they are gorgeous.

Palmer 20

Hello Jay:

I have the post on ebay for this cue.
It was on AZ back in December of 2010. It was posted by Troy (Vinniebabarooch) and picked up Kevin (Kvinbrwr) immediately. If you use the search engine and put in Palmer Model 20 it is on about page 8.
I was lucky enough to get it from Kevin and is in the same excellent condition. My daily player is a Tasc, this keeps some of my other cues company in a display case in my pool room. I'm looking at a BB, so this will have to be enjoyed by its' new owner.
Only came with one shaft.
Other than this I don't really know much history on this beauty.

Dave
