There is interest and the cue will sell.

The question is, Will it sell for what you think it is worth?

I often see cues that I think are well overpriced, and I see cues that I think are well underpriced.

Like all things, it is worth what you can sell it for.

Put it on ebay with no reserve and it will sell for what it is worth. I never have the guts to do it that way, as I just start it out for what is my bottom dollar, if someone bids great, if not thats just great too.

Best of rolls,

ken

The problem with ebay is that its not an accurate gauge for full market value. Most ebay shoppers are looking for a deal.

I'm willing to bet that he could get 10-20% more here on the forum vs. ebay.

Values

I watch eBay auctions of Palmers and have been doing so for more than 10 years.

In my opinion eBay IS an indicator of the market. Sure, sometimes there are auctions that are an aberration, such as the one-bid auction for a 3rd Catalog Model 4 that closed two years ago at $1,200 (ludicrous) and the Model J that sold last year for $1,300. (Sounds low but there is an AZ thread in which an owner of multiple J's states he paid roughly that amount for all of them.)

Sometimes Palmers get bid-up on eBay by two buyers wanting the same cue, but I consistently see a good number of 1st, 2nd & 3rd catalog cues sell for under $500.

There was a nice 2nd Catalog Model B that sold this week for $310.00

As for this forum and other internet sites, in my personal experience, I not only have never paid what I consider a high price for any of the Palmers I acquired, and to the contrary, I got some great deals from other AZer's and experienced cue dealers.

As much as any Palmer owner, I would like nothing more than to see them increase in value, but I am a pessimist when it comes to their present values. I think some Palmer owners overstate the values, and if your cue is not really for sale, I suppose that has a certain logic to it.

But IMO and from my observations the market doesn't support some of the asking prices out there.

Appreciate all the input folks, and the cue is sold. Not what I was asking but a fair price none the less……….

There isn't a price on my boy...........

Sometimes you just cant get ahead of somebody.....

My mom tells me never put a price on anything you DONT want to sell.

I wish you the best of rolls,

Ken
