Enter any pool room in the country and what do you see
with rare exceptions
pool players complaining about the lack of action
Poker players get together and what do they do?
Play poker
Golfers get together,and what do they do"
Play golf
I need not add that they usually gamble,poker is
a meaningless activity without gambling
Many from my old school back ground,
feel the same about pool
Right or wrong ,there is the idea of pool
played for serious stakes is a test of heart
Unwritten in the psych of the pool player lies
the code,the assumption that if you can deliver
under pressure of high stakes action
Well,then you have heart
Anyone can go out in the back yard and walk
across a two by four lon the ground,but take
that 2x4 up between two tall skyscrapers
and try to walk across it now!
Well,some of us like to walk the line, and
some of us like to win the money
But what most good players find,with rare exception
and usually denied by only the novice is the fact
that only the poor to average players get to gamble
day in day out
Why is this?
Think for yourself,in your case isn't there someone
e that you never play?
A guy that you hear,oh he never loses,of course you
might here "Why play him,he quits if he gets 2 games stuck
you can not win anything if you do beat him"
On the other hand some few are the players that everyone wants to play.
