Well........ I know I will probably catch a little heat for this but Pat is a good guy and he wanted to know our honest opinions.

ONE thing that might make the guys tune in is some nice looking women playing pool. I'm not talking about a T & A show, just some nice looking women that can play a little. It would be nice to see them paired with other more competent women players and maybe some mixed doubles.:oink:

I watched it once but I just don't have the time to stay tuned in.

Another thing that he could do is open up a Chat Room and he could have the chat questions and banter relayed to him where he could act on the text messages.

Some of the chat room people could offer suggestions, maybe silly stuff, like when player B gets ready to pull the trigger, yell FORE-JoeyA. :D That ought to have all of the players good and steamed at me and will tune in when I do commentary. ;)

Like someone mentioned earlier, an EMAIL or a text message 30 minutes before the show starts. I probably just don't have enough time or inclination to set aside time to watch just the show but if I knew it was on I would visit if nothing else was going on.

A little give-away for the tune-ins would be good, especially if it is advertised.

Get a database of people interested in the show and tweet them or text message them, tease them that if they call the show in two minutes, they win..... whatever.

That's all I got for right now.

OH yeah, ADVERTISE that a well known pro is going to stop by and give "SECRET" tips to the tuned in audience and participants.

Joey,
You made some good suggestion and I'm sure that they are being considered.

Sorry I don't have time now to make further comments, the Game Show is about to begin.

See you there.

There are a bunch of streams on the net now showing pool. I have seen some of the top regionals streamed and have less than 10 viewers. Tar seems to do the best as far as amount of viewers. So it's not really that bad having 20-30 viewers at this point of the "Game Show"on the net. All I can think of is to promote it everywhere on the net that pool players vist. Maybe make a printable flyer for us to download to tack up on the poolroom we play at.

More promoting on AZ will help bigtime. One thing about Pat is he's always looking for new ideas and not afraid to try them. Keep at it Accu-Stats, you will hit the magic formular soon I'm sure. Johnnyt

A slight modification of another person's idea

Instead of having a viewer win if a player didn't, partner a player with an internet viewer. Have the internet viewer win a prize based on how well the player did. TV did something similar years ago, I can't even remember the show but that had the audience rooting for the player harder.

I tried to watch the show months ago but I was having issues with my computer and couldn't watch any of the streams. I have to admit that I have pretty much forgot about it since then. Live streams of tournaments or match ups do have more appeal for me than a game show so it will have a tough time competing with them for my interest. I have to admit that "C" level and below players rarely hold my interest playing anywhere so that could be an issue.

JoeyA does have a point, men watch lady players. That doesn't mean that they have to be scantily clad or as a female poster put it well in another thread, "little miss low cut and high heels". The occasional lady generates interest.

Good luck in the endeavor.

Bowling For Dollars was one show that had that kind of a format. Johnnyt

I was completely unaware of it but will be a faithful watcher now. I was just thinking this morning about how cool it would be if ESPN would get together with Pat and broadcast some of the many video taped games that he has but we don't need ESPN for this now. Thanks for getting the word out.

watched an hour or so tonight

I watched an hour or so of it tonight. Nice fast pace is a plus. Overall Pat's chatter is good, seems a little forced at times, especially the laugh. I have certainly seen a lot worse game shows. A possible issue is that with the large number of contestants it is hard to keep them all sorted out so that the audience can identify with one or two and root for them. It might be better to break them up into teams or groups with some sort of markings on each one in a team or group, maybe an armband or sash.

What we have here doesn't seem to be quite a game show or quite a tournament either. I don't really know the answers to how to make it more popular, my suggestions are purely food for thought from my perspective.

Interesting project and I will try to catch it again.
