Pat's CTE System

That's because I only say useful things to those that want to learn something. You don't fall into that category. You have stated several times that you have no desire to learn CTE, and you have shown for a long time that your only desire is to ridicule. Sadly, you actually have a following on here in Duckie, JSP, Lou, and a few others.

I guess you are their leader because you are the only one of the group that has ever really contributed anything worthwhile to pool knowledge on here. (And yours are with the exception to aiming threads) All you guys do anymore is flame wars and mockery. And think you are actually smart because of it. It just makes you guys look bad, but you can't even see that you have become so blinded. Truly sad.

Where are you when Joey is raging in his nun's outfit in blue 24pt font? Or how about Cookie or Petey or Champ or Neil or... oh, wait a minute... you're Neil :-o

I admit to a wide variety of sins. Mocking CTErs? Guilty as charged -- the way you guys obfuscate it is so idiotic (there I said it) I can't helps meself. But, I am also comfortable with my contributions to the group over the years in the form of trip reports, original stories, the occasional shared insight from 40 years of pool, bon mot, Smorgism, and yes contribution to pool knowledge. No, I don't hang out in the NPR section like you do, nor do I have any interest in "What would you do here" scenarios, though I do occasionally go thataway.

So, basically, you can go sock-it :-)

I've wanted to learn about it, but the more I know about it the less interested I am. It has a few good points, as I've said over and over - primarily its emphasis on specific physical alignment with the shot. But the more I know about it (no easy task learning anything from the DVD and the CTE users on AzB) the less I see beyond that. In fact, the more I hear about the morass of estimations, adjustments, "visualizations" and other nonsense needed to operate it, the more I think its negatives outweigh its positives.

That is a lie! you do not want to learn it, so stop the games pj.

That is a lie!
Calm down.

I certainly don't want to use it, but that's not the same as not wanting to learn about it.

You have to believe I don't want to learn about it - otherwise you'd have to admit to yourself that you don't understand it well enough to describe it.

I actually thought this was pretty funny when I first read it.
When I posted my ideas for a helmet with grid lines I was pretty proud of myself.
Imagine my surprise when I see a guy who has told me no less than 5 times, that if I don't like what the thread has to say, then I shouldn't read it, and more importantly , I shouldn't post my views.
Well in response to that {unnamed hypocrit}, you are a hypocrit.
You can't play Saint and then do the same thing you condemn.
{well you can but then you just seem ridiculous.}
I apologise Pat for making a personal statement, but the blood was coming out of my eyes so hard I had to, or lose my new invention and hold back the great sport of billiards another 100 years.

Calm down.

i wouldn't doubt you do know it cte/pro1 already, you own a table and the dvd. Only a complete moron would not be able to figure out the system. You know the system dont you PJ  lol

I've always said I know it better than those who use it, and that opinion is strengthened with every post made by a user who says he knows what he's doing but can't describe it.

And that's my main objection to CTE - I think its "two-line visuals" and "pivoting" are pretenses that make how to aim less clear to its users, and I don't think being anti-informational is necessary for a system to work, even for those who aren't easily taught.

Without being too 'circlejerk-y' about it, I've always felt the simple question people overlook is the Mystery of the Missing Pocket. Without a pocket, there can be no aiming system, period.

To me this was a smack-your-forehead-revelation, and I wish people could see it before either side gets bogged down in lines and OB edges and alignment and pivots. I tried to illustrate the point with this post, which people read as sarcastic smartassing but it's actually just the most logical way to point out the gaping hole in cte.

uhuhuhuhuh I said gaping hole

why not use your knowledge for good and not evil Pj and help people out :)

You are right, and I apologize. You HAVE contributed good stuff on here. Your CTE posts, however.....
Neil, you were the one who told me to keep my vision center aligned with the CTEL. I replied that seemed erroneous. Later you admitted you were wrong. Right then, you showed you didn't have a clue about CTE, only what you erroneously thought it was. You may be a good shooter but give us all a break, pullease. Why do you now feel empower3ed to argue with credible forum members? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, apology accepted. Just consider my CTE posts the Sprinkles on your DQ Blizzard... and you don't like Sprinkles :-)
