Paul Fanelli butterfly cues playability?

I'm considering a Fanelli Butterfly cue. Does anybody have one?

I have a few questions:

1. Are you happy with your purchase?

2. How does it hit?

3. Is the hit solid?

4. Does the playability match the beauty of the cue?
4b. Is your Fanelli an everyday player? How does it hold up?

5. What is your opinion of Fanellli quality and craftsmanship versus some of the other top Cuemakers i.e. (Tad, JossWest, Southwest, Tascarella, Dennis Searing)?

6. Is the cue heavy?

7. How is the resale value?

8. Is it a desirable Collector's cue?

Can I get a little, help? Nobody knows, owns, has hit with or heard from people that have owned or hit with a Fanelli?
 
I owned a Fanelli 4 pointer that was quite nice. Great fit and finish and a perfect leather wrap. I didn't have an original shaft for it, which means I can't give a full review. Even with a non original shaft, it played great. I can fully recommend a Fanelli cue.

I have had a few and I can say without a doubt they are some of the best made today. They play very solid, and they have a great feel. I like his ivory flat faced joint. As far as the craftsmanship, it's outstanding. You really cannot compare his cues to traditional cues. But I'll put his work up against anyones, but like I said there are very few cuemakers that make what he makes.

Thanks, Classiccues. The information is helpful. I spoke with Paul yesterday regarding a cue, he was knowledgable, helpful and a good listener to what I was looking for.

That's a great cue you posted. I actually tried to describe this cue to him.

Have you ever seen butterfly cues from Tad, JossWest, Tascarella, Dennis Searing or Southwest?

No butterfly cues from any unless you count a conversion of an older Brunswick. There are very few butterfly cuemakers and even less that go to the extent that Paul does on his designs.

Just tell him the purple heart cue he built for Joe... :)

I am happy to see that all of the responders are happy and positive about Paul's cues.BUT,I wish to state an objection to these kind of threads.It always makes me cringe when I see these question about any cue maker.I imagine a man putting his heart into making what he and many others feel to be a great product.

Then suddenly questions like these are asked and his reputation is getting ready to be changed forever,because 1 or 2 critics or individuals who think they know something,and likely as not don't,proceed to ruin the poor guy with remarks that somebody else doesn't know any better than to believe.

Again I have no personal knowledge of this cuemaker,i even ordered one of his cues.I am just not happy with the thought that harm could occur with one or more blockheaded critic

Also I appreciate every reply on this paticular thread,i am merely urging caution.Caution when asking these kind of questions that anybody can answer foolishly

I just wanted some 1st hand information from current and past Fanelli Butterfly owners. I was sold the moment I saw the purple heart Fanelli cue Joe over at CLASSICCUES posted!

With everything we need to consider the source of the information before taking it as gospel.

I have spoken with Paul also and just based on his knowledge, customer service, value and importance he placed on my business and treatment of me the Customer I asked him to add me to the waiting list.

But that purple heart butterfly completely blew me away!

In this case we have nothing but praise for Fanelli which is a good thing

I will quote a famous cue maker I spoke with last week. He said this when I called to inquire about making a new shaft and a idea for a new custom cue.

"As a Cuemaker you have to do your best work each and everytime, because it speaks stronger than any word of mouth"

I truly and whole heartly agree with that comment. The bottom line is make me a beautiful, well playing cue that stands the test of time and I'm happy. Cuemakers that live by the above quote have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Paul has nothing to worry about his work is so beautiful, unbeleiveable and well playing those factors will over rule all the negative bs if there were any.

And Mr. Stroud's work is so classic and timeless, like a tuxedo (formal wear) how can you beat it?
