Payment help/advice

out of country transaction

Ok, things changed a little, and it looks like im going to end up purchasing the cue....

BEFORE you all get your panties in a bunch, I was quite ready to take everyone's advice and just pass on the deal, and even told the seller it looks like we were not going to be able to do it.

But, as a truly big surprise to me, he said he was able to borrow enough money to ship the cue to me. FIRST.. He said he looked at my ITrader and was confident enough to send me the cue, and when I receive it and checked it over, to then either send him a money order or wire transfer for the payment.. Wow, how about that..

I was so surprised, I decided to tell him I would throw in another $20 on top of the price we agreed upon. Thought it was the least I could do to reciprocate his nice gesture..:embarrassed2:

I will follow up after the deal has been completed, and let everyone know who the seller is (if that is ok with him of course). Even after this deal, his Itrader will only be (2) strong, but if everything ends up working out it should be a good endorsement for him for future dealings...

Thanks again every one...

He was honest enough to send back your pay pal transaction from the very start. he was also honest enough to tell you that he was broke.

With your latest up date looks like you just made a out of country friend.
Good for both of you guys.

Sometimes

The flaky sounding deals are just folks being honest. I had one similar to this. Sent the money W.U. Shorted him on shipping by accident. Sent another payment. The whole time thinking "this better not be a scam". Worked out well in the end and I got a real good deal.

Update

Hi,

I meant to update this thread earlier in the week, but was knee deep in another project that needed to be completed first...

So, the seller shipped me the cue on his own and before a payment was made because I was hesitant about doing the deal after he said he couldnt do it through paypal.. The cue was shipped DHL and arrived in about 3 business days safe and sound (seller even shipped it in a 1x1 hard tube case that was not part of the original deal ). Cue was in excellent condition as described, and is one of the nicest hitting cues I've tried out (it is an Al Bautista with his LD shaft)...

Seller is vicieyem, and now has a second positive Itrader in his cap.. I ended up sending him the funds via Western Union and he said to deduct the fees for it out of the payment.. I also sent him an extra $20 on top of the agreed upon price for his extra effort in the deal...

Thanks vicieyem, it was very great to do business with you!

Thank you, and your advice would normally be sound advice. But the seller offered to ship me the cue before any payment was made, and for me to check it over and then send the payment if it was as it was described. How could I ever pass that offer up (I couldn't, and didnt). Turned out to be a very good transaction with a very honest (and trustworthy) seller...

wow - you have Great Instincts!

if i am contemplating a deal i will consult you first - for sure!!

glad it worked out for both you and vicieyem and it was a 'class act' he shipped it in a case

all the best,
smokey

If the seller was going to do something wrong he would have just kept the money n in 21 days he would have had it... But he returned it to you... I guess that shows a little honesty

Sure, but..

Yes, but through paypal I would have had recourse. If the cue was not received by me in 'X' amount of time, I would have filed with paypal and they would have returned my full payment (he would have never received the funds)..
