Paypal help needed

That's great to hear Jay.

Are you going to continue to use paypal in the future ?

Yes, with some changes in my account. It will no longer be my second bank account. I will keep my balance at a minimum from now on. From what I learned it is best to make all transactions on Paypal using your credit card. That way you have a layer of protection. And don't leave extra money in your account for anything!

I have been following this thread with concern as I use Paypal quite often. Congrats on that working out, very timely for the season.

Jay, I don't have any advise, and all I can do is wish you good luck getting this cleared up.

A couple of years ago, I had two PayPal charges show up on my credit card bill, and, I don't even have a PayPal account. Plus, I've never used eBay. It took about 4 months of dealing with the credit card company (very helpful) and PayPal to get things straightened out. It was only about $100, if I remember correctly, and was mildly aggravating. But what was REALLY aggravating, was just how long it took to get it unscrewed. As a result, I'll never even think about opening a PayPal account. Their customer service was just awful.

Good luck!

That's great news. I'd love love love to learn how a charge back got filed from that long ago, but that will never be revealed.

OK, Jay, you musta figured there was a good chance that you were out $500, and now you aren't, which is (sorta) like making $500, so you are bucks up, please share the wealth as

baby needs new shoes.

Glad to hear it man

Okay Kev baby. You're invited for dinner tonight. Be here by 5! :D

Jay, glad you got it worked out. What an unnecessary hassle.
I guess I can go fill in that hole when the rain lets up.

Paypal ? Never !

My customers ask why don't I sign up to accept paypal.

And this is why I pay by check, money order, credit card or cash. If you have to have Paypal, we don't do business. I've heard way too many horror stories about it.

My God, there is a $500 transaction with this guy on that date. And now he's disputing it. I have no way of remembering what I sold to him, I've done so many transactions on Paypal over the last few years. I wonder if they can find out what he bought from me. I think it is listed as an eBay deal. Totally weird, and frightening too. If I can't trust Paypal then I'm done with them.

Whatever he bought he received a long time ago. Strange that now after a year and half he is disputing it. Paypal security should know better!

I don't mean to butt in, but I thought there was a time limit for filing a dispute with Paypal and if you didn't file the dispute in the specified amount of time it's too bad for you. Maybe the rules have changed since I went through this with some bad deals through Paypal and I hope that you have better luck than I did. I hate dealing with them, but if you want to do any business on ebay they force you to deal with Paypal.

James
