The seeds and wild cards for the World Cup in Greece in September have been announced, and Pedro Piedrabuena has been given one of the wild card spots.

Because of family and business commitments, Pedro P. will not be able to participate in the World Cup in Greece. His name has been withdrawn as the CPB wildcard. He, along with Michael Kang, will participate in the World Championship in Belgium in October.

Can the upcoming 2013-2014 carom tournament season possibly be as awesome as 2012-2013 was? If so I'm looking forward to some great matches. I'm going to stick my neck out and predict the official 28pt. run in 3c will be broken this year .

Good luck with your neck. With more and more leagues and tournaments going to 40 point games, the chances for 29+ get fewer.

29?

We've been speculating about the 29 ever since Komori ran his 28 in 1993. Five years, nothing. Then Ceulemans ran 28 in 1998. Then FOURTEEN years, nothing, until Forthomme ran 28 in 2012. One year later, Caudron runs 28 and misses 29, one that Honey Boo Boo could have made with her handbag. I'll quote William Goldman: nobody knows anything. Anyone who thinks he has the wherewithal to make a prediction about the next 28 or the first ever 29, has cojones the size of billiard balls. Three of 'm.

Other than that, I completely agree with Steve. Great season, another splendid one coming up.

If they want the record to be broken, then here's an idea:

Matches will simply be high run from the break. Each player starts his match with the break shot and continues till he misses. Then the other guy goes. That's it. That's the match. You can then play tons of more matches this way, round robin, etc., No worrying about safety play. Perhaps if they did this then someone would eventually break it.

The opening shot in 3Cushion is not a, "High Percentage" starting position for a long run, even though, the TOP players may average 4-5 points from the break.

A starting position with all 3 balls closer together, may be a better way to start each players inning, JMHO!

I just went to the UMB website, I did NOT see Pedro's name anywhere, especially under the WILDCARD category.

Did I miss something, or is the Official UMB site NOT up to date?

Anyone?

Well, Billy, I guess you weren't paying attention. See post #5.

I hardly ever pay!

BTW, Only my Mother and Father call me "Billy", sir!

You know very well that that is an out and out lie. For decades EVERYBODY called you Billy. But then you are very well known to be a liar and a cheat!

Sir, you are a, "first class piece of garbage"

On my next trip West, I'll make a special trip to address your slanderous remarks in person. I guarantee!
