I am assuming nothing. I have several beginners in my shop and I teach them the basics of aiming first and work on their stroke later.
I USED TO teach them the mechanics of the stroke first and I find it much easier when they understand how to line up to correct the stroke.
And I will bet large that I can take a person who has never held a cue in their hands and lay the cuestick on the correct line and as long as they don't miscue they will make the shot I set up no matter where they hit the cueball.
I dont no what i was thinking ,your right aiming comes before stroking.heck you dont even have to have any kind of stroke just as long as you can aim properly.
You are very lucky you dont live by me because we would get someone thats never held a cue and we would find out .Imagine how silly they would look on a 9 footer.Never held a cue ,its wonder someone else hasnt
commented on how silly that is.
If i where a world champion and made the comment on the stroke is more
important in the beginning would you agree?Just because you dont know me
and dont agree with me and alot of people may agree that strokeing is not as important as aiming i could care less, just tells me your not really serious
about pool.
