Yep, unless you're from Michigan's upper peninsula or very near the Great Lakes area, midwesterners/westerners usually have an "eye-closing" learning experience when they experience the wrath of a good Nor'easter for the first time. When you step outside, your eyes tear, the tears flash-freeze right on your face, and the subsequent whincing you do when this happens causes the skin to crack.
That humid, icy wind just CUTS right through you like a chainsaw! Give me nine below any day, without this damn humidity and wind. "Calgon, take me away!"
