I like to watch Scott Frost shoot because he appears to do it so
nonchalantly while I struggle to make decisions and hesitate to pull the trigger. But my topic is not me but the little hitch or dip or whatever it is that Scott has as he starts his stroke. Is this good ? Bad? Would a coach try to change it? I wondered if some of the teachers here have thought about it. It's pretty unique

His stroke is one of a kind for sure, I have a ton of video of him on my site and if people are curious just go to www.ontherailtv.com and look in the videos or just press play on the home page. I cannot say it is bad but if people were to try to emulate it they would have a rough go I feel. I think most instructors want to teach a traditional style of play. I look forward to our game bud, how does Sunday sound before or after the tournament?

Scott plays ahead of perpendicular (quite well I will add) which makes him make a different move with his cue. Takes years to polish.

Not recommended by good instructors but anything can be done with enough time...SPF=randyg

Agreed. Mika Immonen is another top-echelon player with a *very* unique stroke -- Mika's is what some of the old-timers call a "locomotive stroke" (i.e. resembling the motion of the wheel pushrods on an old steam locomotive). Very circular, with the motion of the cue never stopping, pausing, or coming to a complete halt, except at FINISH. Obviously, lots of shoulder motion and elbow rising up and down, but Mika's polished it to a fine art and made it all his own.

The only idiosyncrasy with my stroke is that the balls don't go in the holes all the time...

Fast Lenny, I've been a pretty good husband lately so maybe my wife will let me. I'll ask (beg) and see if she'll go for it. Before would be better because if I'm to come all that way I want to play in the tourney. I'll PM you yea or ney.

Would be fun, we could meet up at noon and play our match and then play the tournament, I am sure we can get done in 2 1/2 hours.
