Personal training with Jerry Briesath

I traveled to Phoenix last week to spend a couple of days with Jerry Briesath for some one-on-one training, and just want to say what an incredibly positive experience it was for me and my wife. I had spoken to Jerry off and on for several months and decided to pull the plug on this training. My wife accompanied me on the trip, but had not intended to participate in Jerry's instruction.

After we arrived, and Jerry sized up the situation (I've played a long time but have not been improving, and my wife is a complete novice and largely uninterested), Jerry insisted that he spend some time with my wife at the start and end of each session.

Long story short, both my wife and I benefited tremendously from Jerry's help. Now she is excited about the game and I have a playing partner.

Aside from being just an overall great person and enjoyable to spend time with, Jerry is incredibly patient and the perfect instructor. He saw immediately the flaws in my game and set about to help me correct them. He suggested some drills and practice tips for me to complete at home. He was patient with my wife and had her shooting at a better than novice level after a couple of hours.

Jerry has offered to help us troubleshoot our game with phone calls any time.

We hope to return for additional instruction with Jerry after a few months of practice.

I highly recommend Jerry for any level of instruction.

Looks like you were at BullShooter for your lession, Jerry is one of gthe people in POOL, I would call CLASS ACT. Great Instructor.

Yes, good eye.
And I can't say enough good things about Jerry. Class act through and through. I'm honored to have met him.

Jerry lives down the road from me in the next city over, have spoken to him a few time, he is a very good person.

Anyone who can not train with Jerry personally I know he sell a basic Pool instructional DVD, it just great stuff. Price under $25.00.

Not one bit surprised to read this review. Jerry is one of the old school instructors and should be on anyone's list for pool instruction. I do admit to being a bit jealous and a wee bit green with envy.

I spent a quality weekend at Jerry's place in Madison many years ago. A great guy...time and money well spent.

I’m in Phoenix for a few days. I went to bull shooters today to work on my game. I forgot that Jerry is in Phoenix now. My game definitely needs help

I met Jerry at the 2017 US Open. I was hitting them fairly sporty but didn't pass on the opportunity to have a quick chat with him by one of the open tables. He started talking to me about my game and I perked right up.

Next thing you know we were over at Q-masters and he was giving me lessons. He made a tremendous positive impact in my game, one that has helped me jump a level over the last couple of years.

We also sat and watched 5-6 matches over the next day or two and I got to see how what he coached me on separated success and failure at the table, and how each of the pros implemented different versions of the same consistent themes.

Awesome guy. Tremendous knowledge. Effective communication. FIVE STARS.

Jerry is a close friend of mine. We bought seats together to the 2020 International but, of course, the event was cancelled so I haven't seen him in over a year. We've talked on the phone several times during this past year, but I miss my friend. He is probably the godfather of all American pool instructors. Remarkably, he's as fine a man as he is an instructor.

... and for you old timers, about 50 years ago, Jerry beat Mike Eufemia in a straight pool event. Fancy that!

@ NevadaP,
Next time, pull the trigger!

Never met although a couple pool acquaintances hit like they've been through the program. I remember a room in California where the proprietor (Bill) might've mentioned a sibling relationship. Kinda nags at me every time the Briesath name comes up. I'm probably wrong but killing that worm would help too. lol...
