That looks like the pattern of a Rattler I put of of his misery last summer.

I would prefer a JB Rolls Royce model one w/o the heavy tooling in the back. Excellent interior, plain classic, nice side pockets and much cheaper i guess :) This is like i see an instroke with heavy tooling...

That's better! I hunt rattlesnakes, so at some point I will have a case made with leather and some of my snakeskins....maybe have some western tooling as well....

You do not have no Rattlers in Texas like the one pictured above, and be darn thankful of that...

Its a Mojave Green...

I knew that was a Mojave

We do have Western Diamondback and Praire Rattlesnakes. And of course, Western Diamondbacks are the second largest of the rattlesnakes.

I grew up in Florida with the Big Eastern Diamondbacks. Like this one.

I received an email where I was asked why this case is priced less than others that are less tooled.

The answer is that while this case is 100% tooled on the entire surface of the leather, it was not as intensive to do as the other cases which are priced higher.

Once the pattern was drawn the scales were carved fairly quickly with a little unique touch added to each one.

So subsequently, a lower cost to me results in a lower cost to you.

And in other news - I have updated the For Sale page (more like actually created it) so now at www.jbcases.com/forsale.html there is a list of which cases are still for sale and which ones have sold.

The prices have been left intact to act as a guide for those who are interested in comissioning similar cases. (why do some of you dealers remove the asking price when a cue is sold?)

Your wish is my command. I will send you pix shortly and you can be the first one to own such a case. Price $400 shipped.

The cases you see with the Instroke style are essentially Instrokes with heavy tooling. Because this pattern is so busy and because I already have the dies for it I decided early on to use it to train my toolers. I have about four more or so of these "Instroke style" cases to put up on the website and then no more will be made except on request.

Then you will see more of the Rolls Royce style and other hybrid designs coming out. You'll see influences from a lot of case makers, inlcuding case makers from other fields. Basically, all the cases I have studied for the last fifteen years will be included in the new patterns.

The "heavy tooling" however is where the cost is on these cases. You are definitely paying for the work involved in the surface decoration and the design time that went into it. So whether it's on an Instroke pattern or a hybrid of other cases or a completely new design, the more intricate tooling there is then the more the case cost.
