Sad news in the pool world. Peter Fusco aka "The Fizz" passed away a short time ago.
The Fuscos, both Pete and his cousin, the late Jim Fusco, were Philadelphia natives, attended many tournaments in the '80s and '90s. Pete opened up a really nice pool room, "The Spot," near Philly in the early aughts. One of the nicest guys in the pool biz, a quiet, low-key gentleman with a big heart, he will be sorely missed.
Pete's wife passed away a few years ago, and it was a heartache that was hard for him to bear. My deepest sympathies go out to sister Rose Fusco D'Alessandro, his family, and loved ones.

Photo taken at Super Billiards Expo at the old Valley Forge Conference Center in 2006, Pete on the left and Keith McCready on the right.

Sad to hear. I met Jimmy in the late 1970s and Petey in the mid-1980s. Both were a pleasure to be around. We lost Jimmy years ago, but it's very sad to hear of Petey's passing.

Petey was not only a very fine pro pool player, but he was an enduring ambassador for pool in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Condolences to his family and friends. Gone but not forgotten.

Fantastic pictures, JAM. Thanks for sharing!

Very sad to hear. Saw Pete play one pocked in a 9 ball and one pocket tournament in 2002 in Lanham, Maryland. The crowd sure gathered around Pete to watch.

Someone send me a T shirt from his room. It smelled like a large cigarette filter.
Did anyone know Mike?

Yes, Mike Fusco, who owned a Philadelphia-area poolroom on Roosevelt Boulevard (US-1), was not related to either of them. I played in Mike's room a few times in the late 1970s and met Mike a couple of times. Mike's room was also where I met legendary player "Peter Rabbit," who was a very close friend of (and often ran with) Jimmy and Petey Fusco.

Those pics are pure gold.

Barry Szam has told me many “Fusco” stories over the years. While I never met them because I was a West Coast guy, I still feel like I kinda knew them from all that I’ve heard over the years.

RIP and condolences to the family, the pool family🙏🏼

Mike liked to play Walt the houseman at Cue and Cushion on Cottman St. I think he owned a beauty salon before Boulevard pool room.
Back to Pete… met my nephew at Fuscos a few times. My nephew said he knew Pete from poker at Parc’s Casino. He did not realize who Pete was and how good he is. I think Fusco was on Bustleton Ave in Feasterville. i liked that room. Went there after work once in a while.

Hey GoldCrown
I would`ve loved to been around back in the good old days watching these guys play. I bet it was a lot of fun watching and learning what these guys could do at the table. Feasterville, pretty sure that`s where Gus lived and possibly Barry still does live there. I`ve heard a lot of good stories over the yrs, but being there in person, that would be cool as $hit to see.

As you've come to Derby City so many times, you are, at very least, an honorary East Coast guy. Let's make sure we sweat at least one match together in 2025.

Thank you Stu, that’s very kind of you to say.

We will 100% sweat a match together at the next Derby. I’d be honored😃

One great thing that’s happened over the last 15-20 years is it’s brought us all closer together and we can share lots of fun times of the past and look forwards to the future.

Boulevard Social Club.
I remember that room and the colorful players that frequented it.
I believe it was on top of a Penn Fruit supermarket.
I was a kid in my teens back then.
Memories.

Doc Frye lived in Feasterville He was friends with Miz .. they came into Cue & Cushion once in a while. When Fusco played at Boulevard we’d run over to watch him. Boulevard was an interesting room. 60-70’s were the best of time for me. I never saw Pete play during those years. Currently the only memory I’ll have of Pete is a Fusco’s T shirt that smells like a Marlboro. I got to play 4 games of 1P with Karen C. at Fusco’s … I was a good sport…I let her kill me😂
