For break cue, has there been any consideration for making the entire shaft from LE phenolic rod?

Wouldn't that be to unstable? Unstable as in flexing, not stiff enough. I could be thinking about the wrong LE Phenolic, if I'm wrong, forget I said anything.

I have a couple rods of it I got from atlas and I thought the same thing before I got them that I could just make a shaft out of it, but it is way to flexible to be a shaft! The only way to make it less flexible is to build the shaft at about 5-7 inches but then it would be way to short!
 
The LE phenolic I am wondering about is the same stuff the tip/ferrule of my break cue is made of. The same sort you'd find on a Sledgehammer cue, one piece combo tip/ferrule.

This stuff is very stiff and for what I can find in writting about it's mechanical properties, should work.

If anything, I worry that it might be too stiff and as a result, break because it isn't flexable enough.

Thoughts?

It's not. Sledgehammers have canvas based phenolics.

Thats what I am talking about I have it cut down now and its way to flexible like I said you can only use about 5-7inches after that its too
flexible!!
 
purple heart is great I got one from chris and put it on my purple heart and maple butt! It looks great plus I think it hits good also I used black phenolic as the ferrule and a sumo water buffalo as the tip and that thing hits great!! I like it a lot!!
