alex, efren, django, lee van not invited,
however,
if im not wrong,
alcano, kiamco, orcullo is playing,
they r in bmpap
its abit confusing,
politics i guess
I would be
very suprised if they will be playing, and in fact, I am willing to bet that they will not play in this tournament.
Even Gabica and Manalo have turned their backs to Yen Makabenta, and I can't believe that WPA is still doing nothing to solve this situation. However, I am not surprised, WPA does very little to impress me when it comes to politics in pool...
When players such as Efren Reyes, Fransisco Bustamante, Roberto Gomez, Dennis Orcullo, Ronato Alcano, Alex Pagulayan, Lee Van Corteza, Warren Kiamco, Radalfo Luat, Marlon Manalo and Gabica refuse to be involved with anything Yen Makabenta and his group are doing, the alarm-bell should certainly ring.
They all live in a very poor country, and few of them are considered wealthy, still they will not play in tournaments by Raya with good pricemoney. ALL these players could cash in this tournament, and the World Ten Ball Championship, still they will not do it, because they are fighting for their cause.
Even after Edwin Reyes got killed it seems that the WPA is not interested in trying to solve this issue...
I wish the players competing at the Philippines Open all the best, and I really hope that Yen "The Rat" Makabenta pays quicker this time then what he did during World Ten Ball Championships. Chia Ching Wu got paid his $ 20,000 for finishing second, more than 4 months after the tournament.
Obviously WPA is satisfied with promotors working like that, and while Edwin Reyes said "what is good for the players is good for pool", WPA and RAYA seems to believe that "what is good for the promotors is good for pool".
I am disgusted.
