Philippines vs World in December '08

shocking news (or are they just rumours? I doubt): EPBF won't let one of Europeans (or may be they will let none of them, I don't know yet) to participate in the event. Otherwise he will be banned from Eurotours and World championship!
...I think, there was same rumors, when IPT was set up .....and none was get ban ....... if there is not any official information ,you can relax in that case

ps. Phillipines should solve they problems in they community

If this is true, then EPBF / WPA is taking this a step further that what they did before. Previously, they stated that if players participate in tournaments which clashes in time with the officially sanctioned tournaments, they would / could react towards the players.
I dont think the QC 8 man invitational clashes with anything.

I certainly hope I will be playing the Bacolod tournament around the same dates as the QC tournament.
then there is nothing new. The main problem is QC interferes with last Eurotour event in Malaga. QC is scheduled for December 2-4, and Eurotour for December 4-7. No way one could make to the both of them.

Good you referred to Eurotour as a money machine. It's obvious that now these events are very profitable, the whole field is packed and numerous people on the waiting list every time. But it were the players rather than officilas like IPBF who made Eurotour successful and profitable (though the latter have their own share of efforts). So there might be an idea around to form a union and run th process for the players' benefit. Something like sputnik suggests.

since that's not my lifestory, I can't be more detailed, sorry. But this is more than official I would say, as it is a fact. The player mentioned heard the news from one of the EPBF officials. Or The One of...

I see from the article on the front page that of the european players, Hohmann and Immonen - who are not regulars on Eurotour - are still in, while Stepanov is out of the line up.

This probably means that EPBF has strong-armed their top 16 players and ordered them not to play any tournaments conflicting with Eurotour. That is really something, considering the fact that with the price money available on Eurotour, there are certainly not 16 players who can make a living on that only. Still, EPBF behaves like they own the players..

Nice conspiracy story ,but hard to se any logic in that .... why epbf like to armed they players ...... if some players make decision to play in Phillipine ,it s not big deal to epbf ....they still have 200 or something players in eurotour ....... even "stars" are not so well known in europe ,at that have any big harm to marketing eurotour

..... if epbf make decision to deny they player to play in some tournaments ...... they make a official statement of that .... has you guys see any? c?mon ..... epbf is not cccp

Conspiracy, huh? Where were you earlier this summer when they had scheduled a big tournament in Spain and EPBF told the players if they wanted to play a tournament that week-end, they would have to go to Qatar and play instead?

"If you dont do what we want we will ban you" - standard phrase these days.

I am sure Peter@CEP is more than happy to fill in the details here.
