Phillipines Open

Interesting first round eliminations:

- Bustamante (only interesting cause he beat Fedor last year)
- Pagulayan
- Neuhausen
- AJ Manas
- Lukas Fraccaso-Verner
- Max Eberle
- Corteza

You know what they all have in common?

Their opponents were all Filipino.
And four of them are also Filipino!

He is probably staying home to get ready for the Ultimate Pool Grand Finals! Doesn't want to ruin his stroke by playing on the big tables...
Styer is married, of course, and has a life. He is a virtual shoo-in for an automatic Mosconi spot. Two players among Gorst, Woodward, Bergman and Hohmann would have to finish in the semifinals. Even then, Woodward or Bergman would have to win the event outright.

Gorst just needs to finish one round ahead of Hohmann to get the third auto bid.

Tyler was smart. He played in the UK Open to negate the need to travel to the Philippines. Woodward,Bergman and even SVB, I believe, had to play in the Philippines Open to qualify.

fargo goes out the window in this tournament. last year a taxi driver wreaked havoc
Welcome to the Philipines!

First time there for Shane as the newly crowned U.S. Open champ I warned him that he would walk in a poolroom and some kid would ask him to play. He just smiled and in the first poolroom we visited it happened. A 17 year old kid took him to 9-9 in a race to eleven for 1K. He wasn't smiling after that. Later that week he beat a very young Jeff Deluna 25-24 in a 10K match. I was sweating bullets for my share. Miki was in as well. Every time Deluna broke the building shook!

Tyler needs to train in the Phillipines for 6 months straight, then quit.
