That opening shot was huge, that could have easily gone wrong

Shame svb was up like 6 racks and got pinoy'd
Everybody on team usa is a joke, give it a rest and grow upThorsten in the Mosconi is going to be a joke.
Nobody caresIf it's not Bergman, I will be boycotting the Mosconi.
But I have a feeling Johan will pick Sky.
All four semifinalists are Pinoy! Am I allowed to say I told you so?

I don't mind the occasional single elimination format, but I'd like also like to see a major matchroom event with a true double elimination format. I'm not sure it's appreciably better in the US open that you can win your first matches, then once it becomes single elimination you draw Aloysius Yapp in the round of 64 who was jet lagged and lost his 1st round match to Brandon Shuff or someone like that.this event is a helluva proposition.. travel to the philippines on your own dime, have one barrel, play these monsters..
flip side of the coin, it's not as expensive for the filipino entrants, and the prize money is worth more for them
I tend to agree. I also think that they should leave the jump cues at home - I think Efren's kicking creativity is his greatest contribution to the game of 9-ballThey must truly make the reyes cup 5 pinoys vs ROW. I've said this from the statt
And no, I'm not saying ban jump cues...but for this specific event, it'd make for a style of play consistent with the events namesakeI tend to agree. I also think that they should leave the jump cues at home - I think Efren's kicking creativity is his greatest contribution to the game of 9-ball
On paper ROW would be favored every year, but I expect the Pinoys would make a fight out of it every year

I watched extended highlights of the Jayson Shaw v Fedor Gorst match and they were both unbelievably erratic. Jayson looked at his best for the first half of the match and probably should have won comfortably. But around the middle of the match he started missing balls he never would normally, seemed to lose a bit of confidence and let Fedor back into the match. Gorst also missed a lot of shots you really wouldn't expect him to, whilst displaying his normal amazing proficiency with the jump cue. Saw someone comment on Gorsts facebook page that with all the misses it wasn't the Fedor they knew, and Fedor just replied "you don't know me at all" which made me laugh. Must be annoying being in the public eye and everyone piles on when you have a bad day.Team Asia sure could have used a player of Chua's caliber. He looked a bit rusty at times, but for the most part, his play was scintillating.
Surprised by some results, though. FSR was great, then got clobbered.
Yapp just doesn't look anything at all like he did last year.
Hoang looks very tired. He has played every single major tournament this year except for one.
SVB seems more erratic to me this year. Fedor, too.
Moritz Neuhausen has not built on his win in the European Open.
Pecelj has hit a new level. He lost to Chua, but it was close. It could have gone either way.
I find the Rest of the World too vague a concept to get behind to support. I'd prefer Philippines v winners of Mosconi or Philippines v Rest of Asia. The latter would mean we get to see different players and arguably a different style of pool than the Mosconi so would feel more of a unique thing of its own (and therefore more interesting IMHO)They must truly make the reyes cup 5 pinoys vs ROW. I've said this from the statt
I hadn't heard of the player that beat SVB before. Is that my ignorance or is he fairly unknown?
