Joe Porper sells a lot of his really neat stuff to Hollywood Magic. I've been a member (Associate) of the Magic Castle for about 20 years.

Joe's stuff IS stunning! One of my closest friends in magic, R. Paul Wilson (the Scottish guy from Court TV's "The Takedown") works with Joe from time-to-time, so I get to see some of the really cool stuff.

I'd love to buy one of his 3x6 square cue cases to go with the Porper Card Clip that I have to protect my deck of cards. Anyone know if any of the Vendors at the US Open will have them?

OK, so here are a couple of me from my last trip to the States.

Wee story behind them. I walked into Hollywood Magic in Hollywood, CA, one day and saw an older gentleman sitting on one of the stools being shown most of the newer effects in the store. A few moments later, I realised it was The Greatest - Mohammed Ali! OMG!!! I plucked up the courage and asked for a photo. The amazing thing was that HE set up the first picture you can see, then posed for the second one. I was soooo high, I could have flown all the way back to Scotland at that moment without the aid of an airplane and for that I cannot thank him enough.

I'm sorry, but I never tire of telling that story. THE single coolest moment of my life - so far.

Those pictures are priceless. You are very lucky and it makes it even better that it was just a random happening.
They would be on my wall for sure.
Very cool and thanks for sharing.

When Joe was first getting back into magic a few years ago after a long layoff, I was helping him market his magic items, wands, dice cups, the new metal paddles, the new wooden cup sets, etc.

I can't remember who, but someone from Great Britian bought some of the paddle sets from me - was that you?

Chris

No, I don't have any of the Paddles. I'm more or a manuscript/book/video/dvd buyer than a trick buyer. They are amazing, though!

I'll buy a couple of paddle sets from you. I can definitely use them on a few chicks here at AZ. And just like magic, I'll show how you can take a perfectly normal hiney and turn it into beet red over a matter of seconds. :D

 I'm new to exactly how things work, but wouldn't Ms. Spears be the recipient??

Didn't she get married? Isn't she now Mrs. Trailerpark?

LOL..yeah...she married her background dancer. But, I am sure PaulAlex isn't sweatin' that. He must have a little Toby Keith in him. I don't think he is talkin' 'bout hookin' up and hanging out... I think he is just talkin' 'bout tonite. :p

Faces & Names...

Very Cool...

I'll add my mug as soon as I can find those pics??? :p

If you both had the same smile... either showing teeth or not, it would a little easier to tell. I think it might have something to do w/your build... I could see how you guys could possibly be related but I don't think you look like him so much as someone that could be related to him. The real question is... do you shoot like him??? :p

Before I get to the picture, I'll introduce myself as I plan on contributing to this forum. My name is Michael Kerstetter (a.k.a. Skippy) and I currently reside in Frederick, MD. I recently moved from York, PA. I did most of my playing in the 80's & 90's in Altoona, PA, State College, PA & my hometown (Lewistown, PA).
I've lurked on many of the other forums for many years, but I really like this forum and you'all seem very friendly and knowledgable. I look forward to getting to know everyone better.

Anyhow...here is a picture from one of the first Valley Forge tournaments. My friend and I played in the fundraiser with the women pros. Our team got the ringer (Allison Fisher).

Cheers!

Welcome to the board. Just remember to take everything with a grain of salt. ;)

Also, how long have you been in the Frederick area? Just curious if you've ever played in the Tiger Planet Pool tourney's that are frequently in the area?
