I have finally got around to putting up three pages of photos from the 'private' AZBilliards/OnePocket.org room at Derby City. The room was the brainchild of the late Tom Ferry, AKA OldHasBeen, regular poster on both websites.

Thanks for sharing the link. It is nice for folks like myself, who didn't go to the DCC, to be able to see some of the wonderful DCC happenings :)

It was nice to put a face to a name, like "JoeyA." :p

It looks like a good time was had by all!

JAM,
ThePavlos, etimmons are also in the background of a couple of those pictures.

Also the female player (introduced as Storm) from New Zealand is pictured.

Your assessment of "good time" is VERY inaccurate.....it was a GREAT time.

Many thanks to Steve Booth for organizing the One Pocket Hall of Fame dinner, and for contributing these photos. I hope he will let us use the onepocket.org name again next year for the room.

I'm good at setting up the Vern Elliot shot also---but have never made one. Did Charley make it?

Photo #1
Charlie Bryant sets up one of Vernon Elliott's impossible looking banks

under the watchful eyes of Scott Lee, Willie Jopling and Marissa

Actually I had a real good conversation with Mike Howerton yesterday and I told him the same I'll tell you -- I'm all for keeping things the same as they have been, including the same name. We gained new participants in the room this year, with both tables busy most of the time and often people waiting; a good time was had by all -- or nearly all :) . I only witnessed one 'issue' this year (over someone making use of the room who was not signed up). Last year I recall two issues -- one the question of smoking, and two, a young man who seemed to be camped out in the room :)

Anyway you look at it, it seems like a good thing as it is. I will offer Paypal next year if that is helpful. Every year people will get more used to the deadline.

IMO we want people like Timberly and others involved because they helped a ton with the momentum and fundraising. I will be sorry if she steps aside.

I enjoy stopping by the room, visiting my many friends there, and snapping a few photos. I only played maybe three games of One Pocket on the tables, but still was happy to chip in my $25 toward the room.

Thanks to all that are able to put more time into making this happen and go as smooth as it does! As most of you know, I am personally swamped at that time preparing for our Hall of Fame dinner, so my ability to help at that time is limited, but I am very supportive!
