We've got the list now. Who thinks who will advance in the first round? I'll put my picks in bold. Some of these groups I just can't tell. I tend to favor the qualifiers as the qualification process is difficult, full of great players, and weeds out the shortstops (mostly). Also, I tend to favor the guys who did well last tournament.....but some of these I can't call for sure.

Tommy is a great player, and in my opinion, was not prepared for the NAO. He bought the cloth, he bought the balls - he'll be a different player this time around.

Eberle did aweful last tournament. He didn't play to his potential. Someone who plays as well as him should have done better. I expect him to do better this time.

This is a tough call. Alcaide is a lot better of a player than he showed in Vegas. He won a tour card in that brutal tournament. Ellerby advanced far in the last one. Catledge is a contender here.

3rd is a battle between Van Boening and Majid. VB is like Kennedy and Eberle - didn't perform like he should have. If he doesn't here, and Majid advances - that shows that Majid is clearly the better tournament player mentally.

Wow, this is a tough call group. Deuel is the only real sure thing here. Sigel could advance by sharking the hell out of everyone he plays due to his behaviors. Vickery beat Kennedy last tournament. Wheeler has the ability to beat anyone in the group except Deuel...This group all depends on who shows up with their top game.

Colin, this is as good of a group as you could hope for considering the nature of this tournament! I don't know how well Shaw plays (qualifier I think), so that by default should be a tough player. Montal did better in the last tournament...but I think this group can be taken by anyone. Boyes is the only lock here.

Well ....

You did pretty good, till group 23.
I think Chocan will beat Drago out.
I think Tang Hoa will advance.
I think Jasmin will advance.
I think Takenaka will advance.
I think Hui-Kai will advance. (Won Japan Qualifier above Wu).

I think (can't remember group) that Becker will advance.
 
Mike told me this morning that he has beaten Rafael and Bobby before, so it will be a dogfight. I think he is more worried about Karen! He does not want to get a tomato face and he says a good-playing woman is worth 2 on the wire.

Remember, no one but I picked him to get out of his bracket last time and he was first in his bracket, and he has learned from his bad call not to let up in succeeding matches. We shall see.....

The bad part is that we are both in the first 20 groups so we will be playing on the same day and won't be able to watch each other's matches. :(

Well Snapshot...every player you listed, are players I have no idea about. That's why I'm probably way off. So I went with the "knowns" to me.
 
I don't think Allison Fisher will advance, and I'm pretty sure Dominguez will advance. I am positive Tang Hoa will advance.
 
Your only stand out bad call is Hsia not to make it, he's a great player from Taiwan and I think only something like 40-1 to win the whole event! :eek:

This group is obviously intriguing. It seems like this one stands out as a call for seeding. But, it's also surprising that more groups aren't this tough.
