Pics from my lesson with Archer and Strickland

I had a lesson with Johnny Archer and Earl Strickland and it was amazing. The things I learned from Johnny and Earl are improving my pool game a lot now that I've had a month to work on them.

Johnny gives everyone a chance to beat him and tells you everything he is thinking about during the run out and what you should do.

Earl is better for advanced players imo and a lot of it was just what I needed.

My buddy Dave Huett beat Johnny in a game of 8 ball and has a story to tell his grand kids. Earl's bigger than life personality came through the entire time and I loved it. He was practicing this stroke shot in between lessons and someone from the next lesson gave some input on the shot and Earl says, "I've been working on this shot for the last 25 years and this guy just figured it out in 5 minutes."

Anyway I HIGHLY recommend the pool school. Bring some good markers for autographs. The silver paint sharpie looks great on my pool case.

A big thanks to Johnny and Earl and Mark who I now consider my pool friends.

We are happy that you enjoyed it and took something away with you that could help your game. Thanks,
Mark,

That's cool man. Thanks for sharing. I'm really looking forward to them coming to Austin, TX.

Great pics, Luxury.

While you're posting pictures, I would appreciate a full-sized one of that avatar. I'm finding it difficult to read the words on her shirt.

thank you no rulez for putting the pics all in one post. Rep to you. by the way Dave Huett is the guy in the red tshirt. He beat Johnny in a game of 8 ball but I think it was cuz Johnny told him to take a different route than he wanted to. ;)

No problemo. Can you go more into why you say that Earl was more for advanced players? How is his instruction? Does he help everybody or just people he thinks are worthy of his help? That would be quite an experience. I'd like to meet the both of them and would love to shoot a game of 8 ball or whatever with either/both of them.

AND YOUR NEW AIMING SYSTEM IS NOT THE PRO AIMING SYSTEM.
PROS DO NOT GIVE YOU THEIR AMING SYSTEM. PERIOD. GOOD LUCK.
Hal, all lessons are NOT about aiming systems. There are other things to consider. Maybe somebody just needs help on position play or strategy.
I'm sure your aiming system is great, I will actually call you sometime to have you tell me about it, but this guy was just saying how his lesson was. There was no reference of any kind about a aiming system. For the money it would be worth it just to hang out with 2 top notch pros. The lesson was a bonus.
When I get home on my own computer I will check out the pics, thanks for great post.

Earl showed us exactly the distances that the cue can be from the rail to where you should use a rail bridge. Guess what. It is a long way. I'm able to aim better and see the shot better with this and I'm thrilled at the way I'm pocketing but I think a newbie would find the bridge too long.

The part of the lesson that I think paid for itself is how to bridge when the cue ball is near the rail. I'm making everything with it but it's might be a little uncomfortable for a beginner.

He had us working on a full table lenth shot where both balls are in the kitchen with a slight angle and we used high inside english to get down table. The apa 3s in the other lesson won't be using that shot for a few years if ever.

I'm able to beat the 6 ball ghost so everything was gold for me. Johnny's lesson was awesome for beginners.

By the way Earl helps everyone and didn't ridicule anyone other than their equipment. Oh yeah ask Earl where he got that thing on his thumb. I bought one and I love it.

I was there!!!!

Lee, I was going to introduce myself, but I couldnt find you. LOL
