Pics of AZ room and DCC

At the Mosconi Cup

Earl was using a new model Cue Tec, with a tennis wrap on the butt. Shaft is about 11mm or so, with a really round triangle tip.

He said the new stick has a carbon fiber core in it. I hit a few balls with it on the practice table, it felt pretty good actually. It surprised me.....


Looks like the same stick to me. Nothing was 'hacked' off it. It kind of looks like it is, due to the tennis wrap. At least the one I saw....


Maybe it's a new one since then..??

Maybe he's still trying to tweak the design. I just noticed it in the photo above and it looks like there's only 20" or so below the (taped) joint. What does he have around the joint?

It does appear different. Butt does look shorter than normal.....

Earl's a big fan of white tape. Uses it in every sport, golf included. Don't know if that is what is on the joint, or not.

Come to think about it....the cue he had at the Mosconi Cup was a little shorter, not much though. It had a butt cap on it, looked normal.

Whatever works......

We spoke to Harry Platis last evening, and he was on cloud nine after making the qualifier for the straight pool tournament. He also said that they were going to be having the IPT qualifier last night. I was hoping to read something about who won that IPT qualifier spot.

i knew it was danny; that was just a failed attempt at humor i guess. maybe would have been funnier if more people remember the show parker lewis.

Green haze in the hallways

well earls room wasnt too far from mine dont know what room he was in,I was in 493 at the end of the hallway , Once I stood out of the elevator looking down towards my room there was green fog lingering there and there was more than one room a-blazing I just hope a contact buzz dont show in my blood stream ....lolol ! I seen Earl wandering the halls more than once

Ratchet - the VA hospital frowns on that kind of thing !:cool:

Imagine that, a "green haze" in the hallways at the DCC. I would never have thought that would be possible at a pool tournament.
 
I had to chuckle as I was wandering through one floor over the weekend, the same green cloud was ever-present........on a non-smoking floor.

The banners were fabulous. We had one small one in the hallway for the AZer's to sign and one in the room for the pro's to sign. A lot of pro signatures on there. It's now a collectors item. The big banner did fall on me while I was waiting to play. That was a big banner. It was great getting to meet so many players this time. I hope all of you get the chance to come next year. The room was a great idea. Sam

I think it was coming from Earls room, He did have "that" look on his face lolol seriously I noticed it occurring at the same times every day , it was hard for me keep up with their schedules lololol contact buzzes were the norm , I would like to had a dollar for every one burned there lol

LOL, you didn't see anything different I haven't shown on here before. That's the one thing about me...what you see is what you get. I've made people laugh, & I've made people angry. I really do just like to hang out, laugh, and have a good time. I hope that much was apparent?!?!?:confused: It was a pleasure talking to you too. You were one of the nice folks that kept me company through out the week. I'm looking forward to seeing you again sometime, and yes, I'm feeling better. Thank you for asking. :)

It's too bad we didn't get to hang out more... but I think you got to see a lot more pool action than I did!

LOL, he came up to me when I was at the consession stand and said "I want to work for your magazone, how do I get a job there?". I told him that I don't actually work for Inside Pool but that I was just working their booth.... he said "Oh, then you're not cool, nevermind". :eek: :p

In order to hang out with me more you have to be able to stay up LATE and get very little sleep. Next yr you'll have to get outta the az room a little moe and check out the action room at night. I'll be there. ;)
 
I think I worked out a better schedule for next year...

1am - 7am = Action Room
7am - 8am = Breakfast
8am - 1pm = Sleep
1pm - 1am = AZ Room, taking time out for semi-finals and the like...
