Pictures of new table

Isn't that the point tho? Plus, I think the side pieces with Simonis written on it should be part of the lapels, so you KNOW it's a Simonis suit!

Or go custom - electric blue with black rail lapels with logo.
Still rofl over that bs I read in that thread that got zapped.

Oh, it got zapped? Wondered why nothing else showed up... WTF is up with threads I comment on getting zapped? Or even start! :)

That whole thread got off topic.
The talk about supporting Simonis and me getting into it with the 'tailor knows it all bs'
probably helped it get deleted before it became more of a shouting match.

Yeah, but she's not sure what either... We are debating refinishing the side skirts in black and doing black powder coating on the metal bits, which means it would have a lot of black on it... But if we don't do that, it will be all brown...

Brian

You know what they say about brown socks with black shoes!! I would go with a neutral beige or tan color. Here is one we did with two different neutral colors on the legs and aprons. very subtle difference in colors.

Great looking table......Classicbilliards also sells Brunswick Decals that really make the table pop. I put them on mine and am very happy with it.

Wife loves black tables tho. I'm thinking if I do an ebony stain on the skirts and ball box it will look nice... Assuming after sanding them down the stain will show properly, but, that is what the back of the skirts is for, to test :) Probably leave the legs and stretcher as they are, as I'm not sure I want to have to deal with releveling the table and having the cloth redone :)

If it was my choice, I'd order them. Wife tho, she's not a big fan of the writing on table sides... Wife rules the "decor" :)

The ebony stain might look pretty cool.Should take a stain pretty well. The three's aprons were stain grade unlike most of the ones and two's which were usually paint grade. Room and table look great!!

Has anyone else here had jamie do cushion/cloth work on thier tables?

I am thinking of keeping my pro 8 medalist and have new diamond cushions with tighter pockets and new cloth installed.i have tried to sell it to get a g.c.9 foot but the market is dead around here.

Thank you for your time and input

go to shooters in burnsville, check out the tables there. That should tell you the quality of his work.

Of course Jamie also told me just about every slate at Shooters is crowned... Not much he can do with that unless they want to pay to try to get them uncrowned, which means time of the table being out of use, don't see that happening.

There is a diamond there he shimmed (not extended the subrails) and a couple Goldcrowns that he put new rails on. This will show obe1 his rail work:thumbup:

What type of flooring is that you have there where the table is? -
I see he used wax in the seams, do you have the old cloth? I asked because I'm sure you can see the wax on the old cloth on the bottom side at the seams "wax stripes on 25 and 75 yard line"...most GC3 frames need some attention as well at the end frames...not saying all of em are that way'
But only time will tell now that its all together and covered..

Have fun and enjoy your table'

....

You got your GC frames mixed up a little there, the GC3 frame didn't have any problems, the GC4 frame did:D....but, if this is a late GC3...it could have a GC4 frame as Brunswick changed models. ;)

Was asked to post photo's of the new table so going to toss it in it's own thread. It's a Gold Crown III Pro 8 that used to be at Jimmy's Pro Billiards in Minneapolis. Work was done by Jamie Pluta and I'm very happy with it. Don't judge him on the rails as they have not been recovered yet, but will be this summer. This was also his first attempt at doing the cuffed corners with the plumbers tape. Table plays perfect!

So, here they are:

So, there you have it. Room still needs more artwork and there is a bar that I'm going to build into the cubby area shown.

Thanks again for everyones help!

Brian

Nice pocket work there I see:D

I'll let Jamie know you approve of it. He was skeptical at first about the desire for doing the cuffed pockets, but I insisted. He was very happy with the result afterwards. Even before he did the cuffs, you saw none of the cuts in the fabric, all were under the slate, but still the cuffs give it such a great look!

Of course, I learned on Friday night when I met Scott Bergman from AZB that you're supposed to be in the Minneapolis area in Jan, had I known that, I would have waited! Of course, with your schedule, could end up being Jan of 2012! :)

Oh you lucky guy. Looks great. Now just kick back and enjoy playing. I'd scout around for a couple of nice Spectator chairs for your wife's Xmas gift - remember, it's only money.

Thanks, I'm actually thinking of making some once it gets warm enough to use my garage for woodworking again :)
