Pinoy Pool Table dimensions

I'm trying to get the dimensions for the playing surface of a pinoy pool table. From my understanding there are basically two types of tables. A square one and a rectangular shape. I want to build a rectangular shaped one but have no solid answers to the measurements of the playing area for a rectangular table. Anybody know the measurements on one?
Thanks for you input!

Jody in CA, should know as it is his homeland, or Jay Helfert, as he was there many times.

They do have the square ones as some people build them for space constraints but a lot of people build them on a rotating base so they don't have to walk around the table for each shot. I like the rectangular version better.

I hate those flat balls

That there is what I want to build. Wife and I have a house in Thailand and don't have the tmroom for a regular pool table so I figured I'd build one here in the U.S. and then build one at the house over there.

I found Jay and sent him a message but not sure how to find Jay. Do you know his last name so I can look him up and message him here? Thanks again!

I meant Jody

I believe it's a carom table. They call _that_ pool. I don't know what they call pool. lol
I believe they call that "pool" and a normal "pool" table is called billiards in the Philippines. I have lived in the Philippines for many years but sometimes get the terminology backwards. The small square ones are everywhere in the Philippines.

I want to hear about this Noypi, he's supposed to be witty. Says so on that plywood table with the checkers pieces.

I believe you are right about no standard dimensions. You are not the first person to say that and I believe you are 100% correct!
The dimensions are mostly dictated by what materials are available. So if there's a 3 foot piece of scrap plywood sitting somewhere, that's the size that they will work with. I think most of the wood used will be recycled.
