Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Please send me a link, picture, diagram on napkin of those 5 shots in question. I will try to mathematically prove them on my table using the same pivot distance and a 2/3 pivot point.

From whom are you making this request?

They can be seen on Stan's you tube vidoes.

The issue with them is that it is said that they ALL can be made utilizing the same ETA/CTE visual & the same 1/2 tip thinning pivot... & the basis of the 'system' is that it is 'Objective' & does not rely on subjective interpretations nor input.

If you can mathematically prove such... I will gladly be on board trying to learn how a few simple steps will get me to the actual shot line by ONLY objective means involving no subjectivity nor subconscious 'use' on my part...

as that was which was so intriguing to me when I first heard about CTE.

How I could suspend my grasp of reality to allow such is beyond me... but it happened.

If you can do it while Dr. Dave, Bob Jewett, & others can not... then more power to you...

And Stan would owe you an immense amount of gratitude.

I actually wish you luck... as I would certainly love to have such system.

I looked at Stan's channel and none of the titles to his videos suggest to being anything about making 5 shots using CTE.

I am right there with you on what initially got me intrigued with CTE.
I do think I can show the shots on paper all working mathematically based off of a 2/3 pivot. You do have to take into consideration the line from the object pocket through the object ball but only to get your stance close. Then you can basically just get down on the shot, pivot and shoot. I think all the controversy started back when someone said that you did not need to take into consideration the angle to the object pocket. You do for stance, but not for pivot or stroke. Show me the shots...

I did not step into the box batting a 1000 but over the years I have gotten quite good with PERCEPTION and anyone would be hard-pressed with setting two spheres on any table without me being able to assess them correctly in relation to right angles.

My previous work is very strong but I have grown with CTE. It is a professional system and not a " practice it for a few hours and you have it type deal"
I see CTE as an Efren-like visually deep topic. Sorry to you that I have matured and learned much about the topic of CTE over the years.

I think the WORLD will be happy with the visual phenomena and the entirety of CTE that I leave behind.

Again... you basically say nothing in regards to the concept that you were trying to put forward with those videos as it relates to Your CTE that you want to call "Real CTE".

Arguing has been going on for more than a couple of years now because you brought "perception" into what was asserted by you to be an OBJECTIVE system.

THAT is what most of the hub bub has been about ever since...

because YOU basically disproved your own prior assertion...

which others had been contending was inaccurate for more the a decade.

Down here we have an 'animal' that moves backwards. It is a craw fish. It looks like a mini lobster. It can walk forward slowly... but it moves much swiftly in the water when it uses its tail to move backwards.

I would never refer to you as a craw fish...

because you have certainly not been swift with your backwards 'movement' on this main issue.

It's interesting you're using a 2/3 pivot instead of a full 'bite' of half ball. I assume you're talking about 2/3 of the radius and not diameter. How did you arrive at the 2/3 value, trial and error? That's the way I developed my pivot.

If my questioning has contributed enough in your 'discovery' that you would consider dedicating it to me, I would be honored... if done so appropriately.

When one asks questions & gets an answer... an intelligent man, or woman, also questions the answer.

I doubt that I will ever learn what the phenomena is supposed to be because I have absolutely no incentive to purchase your book... given my last let down seeing the 5 shots video while I was waiting for the CTE/Pro1 DVD.

I believe that there is a relationship between the balls and pockets that lead to the shotline using a pivot method and visuals. I've been mulling it over for a few hours on the best way to discuss it. I can only see one way but we have to agree on some basic points. Without common ground there's not a prayer and I won't try. If you don't agree with my statements we can talk about them and try to work it out.

If the cue tip is placed on a different spot on the cue ball and then used to aim through CCB, the shot angle is different. It's how most people fine tune their aim at GB, CP, Quarters, etc.. It's a basic statement and everyone should agree.

The next points may need some discussion.

A move down table is equivalent to a cue ball rotation.

A half ball pivot will move 15* on the cue ball.

That should be enough to get thing started.

You sound more & more like that guy I thought/think that you might be.

A stationary sphere does not rotate... other than it is on this planet that is rotating around the Sun & hence it too is rotating around the Sun.

If one starts with a false premise, one can then make all kinds of logical assertions & arguments but in the end any logical conclusion will most likely be FALSE because the initial premise was false.
