I know you all have great cues at great value and mine is nothing compared. Nevertheless, I wish to share to you my cue.


This is my custom cue from Al Bautista (Philippines). It was almost 5 years in the making as the wood itself took 4 years to settle. It's nothing fancy.

Here are the specs:

LENGTH - 58"(SHAFT 29" BUTT 29")
WEIGHT - ~19OZ
FOREARM - CORED AMBOYNA BURL (APROX. AGED 5 YEARS)
BUTT SLEEVE - CORED AMBOYNA BURL (APROX. AGED 5 YEARS)
HANDLE - LAMINATED MAPLE
WRAP - LIZARD WRAP
RINGS - NICKEL WITH TITAN ACCENTS
JOINT - FLAT FACED LINEN PHENOLIC
BUTTCAP - BLACK LINEN BASED PHENOLIC
JOINT PIN - 3/8 X 10 BRASS FLAT BOTTOM
FERRULE MATERIAL - PVC
SHAFT - A+ ROCK HARD MAPLE WITH GRAIN COUNT OF 30+ RINGDS PER INCH.
SHAFT INSERT - JAPAN LINEN PHENOLIC (LIGHT BROWN)
TIP - JAPAN LAMINATED (LAYERED)
CORE - 8-SPLICE RADIAL LAMINATED MAPLE

thanks jim. i felt like i was hypnotized when i stared at the wood close range. i thought the wood surface was moving like the surface of the sun. :)

I think that is an accurate a description as can be. The wood looks mesmerizing. It certainly needs no added decorations.
 
thank you. it plays great too. i'm for hard hits and it hits like i wanted it to. i will be replacing the tip though to triangle hard most likely. :)

a similar break/jump cue is in the making...

since the USD is weaker now, no offense to the Americans, the market value of the cue is around USD550 only... but of course, being friends with the cue maker has its benefits too. :D
