Hello AZ!

I'd like to ask if there should be a place on AZ where all the tournament flyers can be posted - kind of community billboard of sorts. I don't mean a thread although that could work but would probably get cluttered with comments.

I mean a page where someone could post a Jpeg version and a pdf version of a flyer that is print ready and all the flyers could be viewed on that page?

Make it the responsibility of the tournament marketing people to put the flyers up on that space with the file name being the proper name of the event for search purposes.

Would this work? I think that perhaps there could be a "USER" called "Tournament Flyers" which just uses the image gallery account and all TDs can log in under that user name and post their flyers. Or something like that.

I think that some folks are producing nice flyers and posters and it's a shame that the announcements of such just get buried in the regular flow of the board.

As I said in another thread I am going to make a new page on JB Cases specifically to "hang" the flyers in my business. It would make my life (and anyone else inclined to do the same as me) much easier if there were a way to do this by finding all the flyers in the same place.

If not on AZ then surely there are ways to do this otherwise?

Suggestions? Volunteers?

I like your idea but cannot commit to it until Mike sees it. He is the one who would have to set up a database for this as the posters would need to expire after the tourney is done and I have no idea what kind of work would be required to set this up. Mike may tire of me committing him to work that requires no effort on my part. I know my wife does. :)

JB, I am in Taipei at the moment but will be back in the states next Thursday. If you could send my senile mind an email reminder then on this subject (jerry@azbilliards.com) I will talk to Mike about it and see what can or cannot be done and let you know.

There is the "Tournament Announcement" forum. :confused:
Of course DP must not have a browser that lets that forum show or something.:confused:

I want to point out again that I think a forum thread is not the best place for this ALTHOUGH - perhaps a sticky where only certain people can post might work.

I really think that a page somewhere that serves as a sort of bulletin board and is much like a real bulletin board in that the flyers are pretty much all up on one big board for all to see would be cool.

Imagine going into a pool room and seeing 100 flyers for upcoming events. You can get out your calendar and start planning right away.

Naturally there should be an electronic version to go with it with details on each event - say a calendar with all the details where you could just copy and paste the event details to your personal calendar. Wishful thinking I know.

I like the way your wheels are always turning!

I think the tournament announcement section is the nuts for getting the word out. I have never passed out a single flyer for my tournament and have had full or nearly full fields for over 3 yrs. Word of mouth and the tournament announcement section only.

I think business card flyers would be better than the usual full page ones.

I like the idea of business card sized flyers. All the information you need in an easy to carry format. Perfect!

That's a great idea Ray - I like the fact that YOU are always full of great ideas as well.
