Places to play in Dallas, TX

I am in the process of relocating to Dallas, TX in the next few months and wanted to know where the best places to play are. I will be working in Coppell, so if there is a nice place around that area it would be best in the short term. However, I would like to also know all of the best places once I get down there permanently.

I would appreciate any information you may have.

Thanks.

I'll second that request. I'd like to hear of any good places to go. For the last 3 months I've been going to Pockets in Euless (because it's close) although not nearly as often as I'd like to! I did try my hand at their weekly 9-ball tourney ($200 to the winner) a couple of weeks back & didn't do too badly. I've been out of the game for 12 years & being from England 9-ball is fairly new to me. Still enjoyed it though. I'll be doing it again, just need to get my game back together some more.

And of course, JDB, hope you like it here.

The only few places I've found which regularly have good shooters frequenting are either :

Click's on Skillman (wednesday night plenty of action)
Click's on Rosemeade
Hawley's at Montfort & Alpha

Rustys in Arlington--Believe Sunday night tourney
Rustys in FW-- Good monday and Tuesday Tourney--One pocket--9ball action
Clicks in Arlington--One pocket-9ball action--Sunday tounrey

Clicks in Dallas (skillman) wed. nights is action night, most players come by spuraticly, recent players the last month or so-

Cliff Joyner
Roger Griffis
Steve Smith
Cj Wiley
Robert Clark
Joey Barnes
Incardona

Clicks in Dallas (Marsh lane)
Hawley's in dallas

Jim, if you haven't left yet...do we have time for another match?

Dave,

We should be able to get together for another match over the next couple of months. I will be doing a lot of traveling over the next few months while my house is on the market but I think I will be coming back to town on most weekends.

Once I know my schedule I will send you a PM.

I vote for these, along with Rusty's in Arlington.

Out of all three, I still prefer Hawley's although it's such a low class establishment. That's where you'll find the players ;)

Hawley's tables play so bad, and I feel dirty every time I go in there. Don't get me wrong I still go in there but as little as possible. Clicks marsh is probably the best one I go to. Tournaments - Wednesday Nights 9-ball@8:00pm Saturday 8-ball3:00pm. Wednesday you'll find the likes of Chen, Gordy and Charlie in there. Clicks skillman has the action on Wednesdays. Wizards on 75 has ok tables but their rates are outrageous. Thursdays there's tourneys at Austin Avenue and Hawleys. Tuesdays at Hawleys. Clicks Skillman has tourneys on Tuesdays and Wednesdays last I heard about 4-5 weeks ago. There's a new Pool Room opening up soon off of 75 and Arapaho. I don't know when though. Rumor has it there will be 4 bar boxes, 10 8ft, 4 9ft and 2 10ft.

I'll agree that the Hawley's 9 foots up front definately have the hawley's roll and table 1 the upper left corner pocket (if at the rack end of the table) has been spitting balls back out again recently.

The hall opening up at 75 and Arapaho is "The Billiard Den" and is being opened by Larry "Sneaky Pete" Rothberg. I'd assume that this place won't really get many players with the rate's he's going to be charging.
