Hi all,

I will be going to Munich, Germany for 2.5 weeks on some business and was wondering if anyone knows some good places to play. I play 9-ball on 9' tables.

Thanks,

Didn't play when I was there. Went to a great oom-pah-pah bar.
Tremendous beer. Best in the world.

depends on where in Munich you will be located, do you know already your Hotel / address ?? ...

a nice but boring place is "H-18" at Hansastr. about 20-30 Brunswick Metro tables, but crowded with far below average players,

better players and maybe some action you will either find at the

"Clash" in Germering, Industriestr. 10 (or 12 ??), 10 Clash Competition II tables in very, very good condition and good atmosphere...

maybe the "´Gymnas" in Trudering, forgot the address

or "Bella" in Giesing (also forgot the address)

there are some other places too, but mostly out of town (like the Clash, but the Clash is in my opinion worth a visit while you're there)

uh hochstr. that's in the cntre of Munich, super nice area, and very close to the "Hofbräuhaus" (tha umpah, umpah place mentinoned above where you get the beer served in "buckets"....)

clash will be quite a long ride then, quite expensive with the Taxi, probably around euro 40 to 50 !! one way
Send me an email / pm when you're in Munich, if I am in town I might pick you up and make a little tour through Munich's pool places, that's the best I can offer....

Mad Mat - outside of Munich, but you take a train to get there, not a taxi, then short ride from the train station, I played 9-ball in a second floor place, with about 10-12 tables. Maybe you know the place from my description? ... I even arranged a game before I left the US, via the 'net, just sending an e-mail to (I think) the German Billiard Federation (googled to find german pocket billiards or something)... They arranged a game, picked me up at the train station, drove me to the pool hall, hooked me up with a guy who played on the european circuit. I protested that they were WAY overestimating my level of play. We played for about 3 hours - no gambling. This guy completely blew my doors off, but could not have been nicer, I learned a great deal in one night. I gave him a 9-ball zippo lighter as a token of thanks.

multi floor super legendary pool hall that unfortunately was closed some years ago...

Pip9ball: you#ve got PM, you better call me I will leave Munich Thursday morning....Italy is calling with one of the best Motorcycle partys of the year, lotsa beer and nude babes :)
